Ok so disclaimer, I have searched all over the web and cannot find the answer to my specific question, everything seems to relate to open intakes vrs stock.

I've a 2019 GT, I've the stock intake with a drop in filter which every thread out there says is the way to go when compared to open-element aftermarket intakes due to high IATs.

What I want to know though, has anyone tested the stock box on a 2018+ against a closed aftermarket intake or against something like this?

From what I can see all of the closed aftermarket solutions with the exception to Steedas are all "No Tune" required so I wouldn't expect to see much but the PMAS Fender mount I'd like some feedback on. I also like the look of the Corsa unit, however its a No tune setup I believe:

It’s splitting hairs. oem closed/fender/aftermarket closed are all going to perform nearly the same.

An open box is all you want to avoid

I’m super SUPER skeptical of intakes as a power adder. Even the “tune required” ones. The only things that’s required to tune for an intake is to adjust the MAF transfer function, if you do just that and leave the rest of the tune stock you can evaluate if the intake adds power.

But nobody does that, they buy a tune that calibrates the MAF and also adjusts other things to add power. So the power contribution of the intake is obscured. And I can’t blame them either, not all owners are running a science experiment, most people don’t care about proving the contributions of different mods, they just want to mod, buy a tune and feel the power.

TLDR: anything closed is going to be good.

I've run tests on CAI's. Stock 17, stock 18, fenderwell and the GT350. None made any difference at the drag strip. Only tune changes were for MAF function.

This is one car one night.

YMMV

Did the fenderwell keep the IATs down while in the staging que any better than the closed systems?

Yes it did, it had the best iat's in staging lanes and the quickest recovery.

That Corsa one looks nice, but I would go with the Ford performance 87MM throttle body kit and have an actual gain for that price. Corsa does state that the gain is to go with tandem with the Corsa exhaust system.
The PMAS looks like the stuff I used in the 90's. Works well, but cleaning the filter takes a bit more time to get to.

My stock open filter sees 170F at idle during this summer, but the temps drop quickly once the car is moving.

Get one if you want the look otherwise the oem with a drop in works great and it keeps iats down. I went down this road and put the cash towards subframe lockout/diff bushings instead. I would do it for the sound and the looks but i got a h pipe and a roush axle back so i cant even hear myself fart
