Good info and points, I guess I meant more along the lines of trying to say it's gonna be some thing not covered by the ESP warranty
Depends on which level of Ford ESP you get. The Premium Care package pretty much covers everything the factory warranty does.

Just an FYI, this is straight from the 2018 Ford Warranty Guide booklet:

Sometimes Ford may offer a special adjustment program to pay all or part of the cost of certain repairs beyond the terms of the applicable warranty. Check with your dealer or call 1-800-392-3673 to learn whether any adjustment program is applicable to your vehicle. Please have your vehicle identification number available.
For those of you who don’t have an extended warranty plan, or your 3/36 has just expired, call and get repair assistance.

So looks like I one of the lucky guys.... Car is 6 months past 3/36, 30,700 miles and at start up cold air is right side only... After few mins it's cold from both sides. Is that classic evaporator core symptom ?

That actually made me think about trading it in for '18....

Sounds like it. mine struggled with blowing cold on drivers side before both sides went out entirely.

Went on vacation for 11 days and I come back to my car blowing hot air on max a/c, it was working fine before.
Has anyone had it just fail without symptoms?
Took it to ford and they didn't even bother looking at it, they said they have started a work order and will look at it then.
My warranty ends in 4 days, I'm worried.

As long as your work order is before warranty expiration date as you stated your fine. Get that new evaporator core!

Yeah thats what they said, but I'm just worried they're going to fill it up with refrigerant and then say its fixed.

I agree unless they said replacing the evaporator is what they would be doing.

FWIW, you might look into what it would cost for a Ford service plan from Champion or Flood and how much you would get back if you cancelled it after the dealer actually replaced the evaporator (under warranty). The plans are pretty cheap up to 5yr/60k since the plan doesn't ever have to pay for power-train repairs. I think you may be able to cancel within 60 days or something and get a full refund if you never used it.

But maybe things are different in Canada.

Ask them if there are any TSB’s regarding AC issues, which we all know there is. Put them on the spot and see how they answer. Keep all receipts, you will be fine.

Oh and stop worrying about things that have not happened yet! :)

Waited for the part to arrive 20 days.
Then they called me they had it.
Took them the car and my dealer said it was the first mustang that they would change the evaporator they had the car for 7 days.
Got it back today and everything seems perfect as before they worked really slow on it to get everything right.
That part number they installed on my car is the following.
FR3Z19850Y

They say its the newest part for the evap. And it came with the whole assembly not just the evaporator.

@jrsimon - Does your GT have the dual climate control? From what I've read, there are two part numbers depending on if it's a dual climate control system or not.

I've asked many times if someone knows where the leaks occur ... never any response, it's like some super secret.

The whole evaporator is made out of aluminum. My theory is the thermal cycles from a lot of use causes something to contract and expand enough to cause the aluminum material or a weld to fail.
They showed me the old evap and the leak it had was in the expansion tanks close to the fins.

Bad weld that cracked, or a tube where it had a bend? Happen to get a photo?
They didnt let me take a pic.
But the dye showed where the fins are touching the expansion tanks. The leak was between the radiator like fins and the expansion tanks.
