What evap core did you go with name part number ?,I replaced mine a few months ago. Wasn't convinced that the Motorcraft Evaporators were the best option so I went with an aftermarket unit. I wanted the Dealer to replace the Evaporator because I REALLY didn't want to do it & I didn't really trust the independent shops to pull that much of the interior apart without damaging things. But the Dealer wouldn't stand behind their work if they installed a non-Motorcraft part. No idea why. They use plenty of non-Motorcraft parts for lots of repairs. So I had to replace the d@#$ thing myself. It's a load of work but with the service manual it's not too impossible. Just lots of work. And the dash is heavy and awkward to man-handle by yourself. Took a few weeks to get it done but I think it was the best solution for me. Time will tell if I made a good or bad choice with the aftermarket Evaporator. I replaced the TXV as well since it sits at the end of the AC Lines on the Evaporator. It's pretty cheap and easy to replace.
ps. I wanted to replace the Heater Core while the Climate module was out of the car but it's not a simple operation to remove the Heater Core. You have to completely disassemble the Climate module including cutting the foam insulation that the dash rests on. I didn't want to cut that foam.
I also replaced the blower motor while I had things apart. It wasn't difficult but the blower motor isn't cheap. But while I had things apart I replaced what I could.
Hope you get yours sorted out.
Thanks in advance.
