Factory defect...on a replacement trunk lid??

My trunk lid has a divot in the black plastic right behind the G of the GT badge. The local Ford service/collision center ordered a replacement. I got a call this morning that the replacement piece has the exact same divot!

My thought is to call back and ask when the replacement for the replacement will be in rather than just accept that Ford can't make a trunk lid/badging piece that isn't boogered up.

Thoughts? Has anyone else experienced this?
