just under 20k on my 2015 and no issues at all. When i bought the car the dealer added a 7yr/100k mile warranty so I'm not too worried.

The poll so far with 72 votes says:
62.5% No problems
37.5% Evap broke

Not very good odds and some mention having it go out multiple times after being replaced.

I mean to be fair it is in the recall/repair section, I would most people in the section are here because they have a problem of some sort or even this issue. If 37.5% of them were going out we would have a megathread 1000's of pages long about it.

2016 GT350 Puerto Rico. Multiple evap core failures of many S550's reported by just one dealer.

OEM evap core leak at 11 mo. from new at 6000 miles

Part S replacement failed just three months later at 7000 miles

THIRD evap Part W installed last July. Working, so far.

Sum up, TWO evap failures.

Multiple part revisions in just a few months. I'm told there's a subsequent part X evap assembly.

Ford MUST be aware of this recurring manufacturing defect.

Yeah, I wish the poll had the option to select what year model the car was so that we can see if it's something that has been potentially addressed in the '17s.

Mine is a '15, 32k miles but pretty sure it was going out over the winter (kept getting a slight burned rubber smell just after startup). I live in Washington, we have high humidity over the winter (lots o' rain) but not so much in the summer. In getting replaced right now. Ditto on the extended warranty.

Looks like a total 36% failure to date for respondents. Given the cost to replace, does it make sense to get an extended warranty for those looking to keep their cars? It would more than pay for itself with this fix alone. FloodFordESP 8 year plan can be gotten for much less than the cost of this repair (at least on my 2015).

I'm curious what others think?

Just took my 2015 in for A/C issues, my first thought was blend door issues after looking around (warmer air on driver's side vs passenger) but others chimed in on this forum to suggest evaporator being the issue. The dealer just called, they found it was the blend door and ordered the part to replace next week.

I will report back, 23,000 miles and it suddenly had this issue.

Ford should step up their game. Im positive they know about the issue from so many complaints. There should have been a recall.
