Anyone know of a solid plug-n-play sound system upgrade for 2015/2016/2017? Let me know your thoughts/experiences. Would like to DIY this on a weekend. Not looking to add a sub. I will be adding dynamat. Tweeters, mids, trunk and door 6x5's

Ideally plug and play, I dont want to have to tear the whole interior apart, splice all the wires and add hidden amps if possible

i have a thread going for a basic 9 speaker upgrade. I went with PowerBass 6.5 coax for the rear shelf, PB 6.5 component set for the doors and the Infinited reference 3.5s for the doors. the PBs are plug in play, the infinite needed a quick wire fix but over all pretty easy. Over all a nice upgrade but I think..... since you said you were not adding a sub. You might want to look into Forscan and turning off the Factory EQ to see how it changes the stock 9 speaker sound. Might get away with just a quick adjustment in the settings. PLenty of post regarding said upgrades and lots of good knowledge on board. That all said, have fun and post the upgrades

Rockford DSR1, 8 channel amp, appropriate harness, rewire the tweeters, done.

Stock speakers are unforgivable garbage. The electronics are not the problem. Just fix the EQ and cut the wire to the dash speaker

With an outboard amp and the DSR1 you can even make the stock speakers sound decent.
You have to rewire the tweeters though to be able to independantly align them to the rest of the speakers.

yes, these are for stock speaker sound quality upgrades.
I have been happy with my speaker/sound deadening sound quality vs the stock. it wasnt overly complicated or expensive so you have a couple of options in exploring the sound improvements with out going to crazy on spending. I explored a few options advised and while still not too complicated the cost started to go with each of the required components. (8 chan amps are costly) If you improve the speakers and still not satisfied, you can go in and add the nice stuff ford left out later on.

Did you read up on the forscan mod?

Do you mean use forscan to disable the eq settings and it will improve the sound by itself? I already have the dash speaker unplugged.

Hi. Did you replace your stereo OEM Amplifier with a higher RMS Amp? If so which one did you go with and was it plug and play. Thank you

Does the PB coax rear speakers sound louder & more bass With the factory nine speaker stock amp. I’ve bin thinking to just replace rear speaker and trapping in the rear speaker wire to install a sub box with amp. Don’t wanna get too crazy with the upgrades

Yes, they do help with clearing things up. no where near as bad installing them as I read previously. Do it!

If you want to tap the rear speakers for your sub you definitely need to disable the EQ with Forscan. Otherwise your sub wont work as needed.
Please note that if you disable the EQ with Forscan the rear speakers wont be highpassed anymore which will give you phase problems in the bass between the subwoofer and rear speakers which might cancel out a lot of frequencies.
In addition you cannot go really loud anymore without risking the destruction of your rear speakers due to running out of excursion with low bass (see above for disabling the highpass on those speakers).

So i really question (as i always do) if it's really the best idea to tap the sub signal from the rear speakers...

600Hz bass blockers on the rear speakers after EQ disable?
