need some advice/input..

bought a 2020 gt350 hp, tech, etc.. has 4K miles on it now. not expecting my M1 anti-matter gray, hp, tremec, etc to be built at this point.

question is: local dealer has a fully loaded fighter jet gray in stock - elite, hp, appearance, tremec.. asking a markup but can get that lowered to a price point I can live with. all and all, about an equal trade on the 350 to M1..

do I part with the 350 for my second choice color? Keep the 350 and hope no issues ever arise down the road? Or hold out to see if my #1 color choice happens to get built?

also of interest, anyone have any time behind the wheel of a 350 and a M1? any regrets? i absolutely love the 350, just will always be the engine concern in the back of my mind. the M1 would alleviate that, just not sure if I’ll forever regret parting with the 350?

When did you order yours and from what dealer? Have they sold or have lots of M1's on order? I know that one of the things in the equation is allotting vehicles to different areas of the country to spread them around from what I've heard so that plays a factor in your order.

Ordered March 2021 and re-ordered in the fall 2022. First order in place for the Mach 1 with them. They haven’t had any. Small dealer central PA

got the car now from a dealer in VA

initial thoughts after less than 20 miles...

Mach 1 feels more like a mustang than the GT350 did.. M1 is solid, smooth, and no complaints. plus the auto rev-match is a nice touch that the 350 doesn't have

definitely needs an exhaust change though, too muffled just like the 350 was with the resonators. I bet it will have a very nice growl once that's done. I drove the 350 very hard these last few days prior to trading it in, will be awhile until I get the M1 broken in and can see what it's power band is really like

good luck to all you who are still waiting. I will say it is definitely worth the wait, as long as your car actually gets built... looking forward to the track days that come along with the new M1

Agreed stock sounds good, better than expected but it’s too tame. Delete the resonator and it will be perfect. It’s awesome with the active exhaust being able to adjust the volume.

Was planning on doing that next summer along with headers, might have to up that timeline

question on the exhaust modes (I haven’t dug into this yet): what’s the differences? To me there doesn’t sound to be any real variation between normal, sport and track… definitely a difference between quiet and the others. the 350 only had normal/quiet and sport/loud.. these extra 2 settings have me confused currently

it is the front fender.. the HP front lip, rear gurney flap and front wheel lip mouldings haven't been installed yet. need to confirm the status of the adjustable struts ie installed, in trunk, or MIA yet

very good point, the wheel lips might cover that - or the gap may prevent the wheel lip from mounting flush. going to see what they say they can do first before mentioning about the wheel lips potentially covering it

**quick question - for the HPs, the fender/wheel lip moldings are just for the front correct? or should the rear have them as well?
Front only and I would suggest the ZL1 front flaps with GT500 extensions. Really makes it look good when they're on. Saw them in another thread and got them myself.

Fixed the flared out piece satisfactorily.. it’s a mustang, so can’t expect perfection lol

you’re “nothing else wrong with it” is the dark cloud above now :headbang:

they were installing the rest of parts this afternoon and picking it up tomorrow afternoon. fortunately ford is installing the adjustable struts at the factory supposedly so there shouldn’t be the missing parts fiasco like the 350s had. gonna pop the hood tomorrow to confirm

Only dealer installed accessory that I am aware of are the front wheel lip flares. Everything else is factory I believe.

Can take a few more when I get home but I think I just have these 2. Quality is nice and they are very firmly attached, although you do drill some screws into the bottom side plastics but they look very clean and look nearly factory imo. Just makes them look better with the gt500 extensions to so you don’t just have a flap sticking out by itself. I cheated a little and did it at work with a tech so we got everything on perfectly.

a couple of us are local and can demonstrate audible changes after various changes. Right @KingKona and @JohnnyGT . They promise not to drool too hard on your car(s).

If you need local PPF installers I've got a couple. The leading face of the rear haunch needs it at min if you don't put rock guards on. I have the ZL1 guards, do not recommend. RokBlox on the other car were flawless. The ZL1 uses entirely too much 3m and it eventually fails (2 years) and lets an incredible amount of pebbles to collect behind it and bend it forward.

As to sound, it's subtle indeed. Sport mode opens the 2nd vane fully above a certain (4000?) RPM whereas Track mode pins it fully open at all RPM. I agree the 4th mode struck me as a bit gratuitous. Quiet (switches to Normal once 3000 seen on the tach), Normal (goes to track at 5000 rpm), and Track would have been my design choice.

I personally can tell if I haven't switched mine over to track mode every time. Can't tell much of a difference on low end RPM but if you get it up some it's a big difference.

Super helpful, appreciate it!

should have met up before I got rid of the magnetic 350, would’ve let you all drive it once I knew I was trading it out .. got a busy two weeks but open to meeting up, be fun - all my other friends are rocking mini vans lol

Did you use any adhesion promotor or just cleaned up the area where the flaps were applied? Just curious as I haven't had mine on for more than about 2 months but have not had any problems so far. Just rocks collecting in the rear diffuser dam.
