Can’t imagine it will be any worse than the GT350....?
USAA has the GT500 already listed now without a VIN it’s still just an estimate but to your point it’s not much different the GT350. The quote came out to be pretty damn close to both my trucks so it’s really not going to be a killer in my opinion

Built yes they will have a build week listed it may change so be prepared for that. Now delivery is a whole different story. Example my F150 built then delivered quickly my ranger built but sat in waiting for shipment for a month and half before it ever got to me.
I do recall my GT350 waiting for shipment for close to a month as well.

My dealer just informed me that I should have my VIN on Monday and that it’s “going to plant tonight”. Not exactly sure what he means by that???

Does a VIN coincide with a scheduled build date?
If your dealer was correct about the VIN, the car should be scheduled for the week of 10/7/2019.

Sweet! Thanks man. I can’t recall, is that date the day it begins production? What is it, a week for completion?

When the car is first schedule it is scheduled for the "week of" next it will be scheduled to the "day of" this is date the car will be finished. If your watching your VVR it will constantly change between "week of" to the "day of" until it is sent to plant for production. The VVR format may have changed since 2012, but you get the idea.

It was stated many times by Ford at various events that the GT350 was a 2 year run, similar to the Boss program, and that Rs would be limited to @ 500 a year.
Can you provide evidence that Ford said the GT350 would be a 2 year run? I am 99.9999999% sure that many people here SPECULATED that it would be a two year run, but Ford never said anything at all. People just made an assumption that Ford wouldn't keep making GT350s. I think Ford wasn't sure how many they would make, so they didn't say anything. Since the GT350 and GT350R were so amazingly successful, who can blame Ford for continuing to build them?

I for one am extremely grateful that Ford is still building GT350s. I think they are really great cars and I hope to own another someday.

Only your dealer has access to the Vehicle Visibility Report (VVR), but he should give you a copy. Ford Performance can also give you the current status.

They said it at Carlisle. They also implied it in Utah at the Track Attack. There’s various videos out there.

I’m glad they made it longer too. I will say I’m not a fan of the GT500 and GT350 being sold side by side. I would’ve liked to have seen a clear handoff

It is nice to have a choice, two entirely different cars, I have never considered a GT350 because I was addicted to the GT500's low end torque. Although the GT350 sound is pretty cool. At least with both cars being available at the same time people have a choice between a high revving manual transmission car and a torque happy DCT.

This is exactly how I feel. I have never owned a Shelby, but have had 17 different mustangs over the past 33 years for which I enjoyed modifying. For me, once I had a supercharger, I was addicted. I purposely have never even driven a Shelby so some day in the future I would get to experience something special. My 2017 made 814 wrhp and 603 torque but I am extremely excited to drive this car.

I believe the GT350 is a brilliant car. If I was not a low end torque, instant tap on demand guy I would be all over the 350. I think it's great that they offer both, everybody wins.

Thanks everyone for your input with my previous questions. I am happy to report my new dealer supplied me with the DORA yesterday. I will say the salesman I am dealing with has been extremely helpful and I feel this was meant to happen for me.

For 2013 -14 ford built less than 5000 units each year and then gone. Ford says 5000 or less gt500’s, and 1250 cftp. 2800 gt350’s and like 800 r’s.
If you think ford is fooling around then think again.think product planning, parts supply, hand built engines, jit (just in time)factory scheduling,it is what ford says it is. Besides the GT500’s are all sold out whether by special customer retail order or for dealer stock, maybe even oversold.
