My mom tried to push bmw's and stuff onto me since I wasn't really getting girls and thought it would help prior to seeing the Mustang

She meant well, just I'm too much a car fanatic to sell out and I'd rather attract the right girl than all the gold diggas.

Is your mom Stacy's mom?

no matter how fast or bada$$ the rs is....still a jellybean looking hatchback. I couldn't justify the looks or the cost (probably 40k otd) Its like my srt4 was, I could stomp most v8s but in the end....I was driving a neon

If i could have any FWD turbo sedan from the 2000's, it would be an SRT-4 Neon. I don't care if they were made cheaply, they were still badass and sound badass

Couldn't agree more, I get so jealous when I hear those beasts driving by, they sound so damn mean! I can't think of other "performance" FWD boosted sedans though, other than like some Pontiacs.

On the hatch aspect of things, I could never own an RS if it's the same size as the ST now. I'm 6ft and while the recaros are nice, I feel extremely claustrophobic by the set-up and size of the car. The 5 cyl ones sound so nasty though.

The only other car currently on the market that sounds close to that with damn near the same exhaust setup is the Fiat 500 Abarth. I believe its an almost straight through exhaust with just a resonator and a cat. But with only 180HP it is kinda writing checks it can't cash with that exhaust note, while the SRT-4 was woefully underrated (The car was rated at 230HP, and people were dynoing at 230 or little above it, which meant it was making over 260 at the crank; that was pretty damn powerful even by todays standards).

I test drove a Focus ST once and i actually liked it. It is a little small but then again, its a small car. Im 5'6 so its pretty roomy inside for me :lol::lol:

I hope that is how the production car sounds.

I would take one of these in a heartbeat if they had a few minor interior amenities. Still might say screw cooled seats just to get into one. I've always loved hatches though.

That's pretty steep for a Focus. Unless it was made in Germany (I'm not sure if it will be) that'll be a pretty hard price to justify.

Why would it be worth more if it was made in Germany? In general European manufactured cars are slightly behind US maufactured cars in build quality.

I cannot confirm this. I own a 15 ST and it fits about 14.5 gallons of fuel. Slightly less than the Mustang. I am at 27 miles per gallon with it (and I drive it full speed on the Autobahn daily). Both the ST and the Eco are awesome. That's why my daily driver is the ST and the Mustang will be my weekend ride :)

The ST comes with Recaro seats as well btw. They are awesome.
I owned a 13 Focus ST and it had a 12.5 gallon tank. There was always a lot of talk on the ST forums as to why the US spec cars got a smaller tank. Also, in the US the Recarro seats are an option.

FWIW, I used to get slightly over 300 miles from a tank on my ST and I get slightly over 400 on my Ecoboost Mustang.

As much as I enjoyed the ST driving the Ecoboost Mustang makes me much happier.

Are you out of your mind?

American cars are well made these days but in no way, shape or form can they compete with the build quality of a Mercedes, Audi, BMW or Porsche. Not even starting with european luxury brands like Ferrari or McLaren.

Nope, not at all, you have to compare apples to apples. Cadillac, Buick and Lincoln rate higher in build quality to the luxury brands you mention. Ferrari and McLaren can't even be discussed since they are not volume production cars.

Talking non luxury brands Chevy and Ford are better than VW, Volvo and Fiat. Peugeot was do bad they couldn't compete at all and pulled out of the US market.

When you talk luxury brands including Lexuus, Infiniti and Acura, Mercedes is at the bottom of the barrel. It's been only over the past several years that Audi has finally turned around their reputation for building non reliable cars.

Looks like grabber blue, damn it Tama you're making me like this car too much :frusty:

It does look so much like grabber blue but if you look at it more closely it's a couple shades darker. Damn they should bring that color to the mustang for 2017.

I'm telling you man, come 2017, if my car is half paid off I'm getting one of those.

Okay I'm not talking about Fiat, Peugeot and all that crap. Those cars are garbage and cannot be compared to german cars at all.

What exactly makes you believe that the brands you have mentioned have higher built quality than german luxury brands? Who is rating them higher on what standards? You on your own?

Last time I checked no-one outside the USA drives any Cadillac, Buick or Lincoln. German cars though have very high demands all over the world. Including the USA. I guess you are pretty alone with your opinion (which I respect though).

Now I like american cars. Ford is building excellent cars with a great price (I have ordered a Mustang after all). In no way, shape or form does it have better build quality than let's say a BMW 4 series though.
