The RS will hopefully fulfill the hatchback-void the new WRX (sedan only) left. However my biggest concern is going to be price.

Current Focus ST is in the 25k to 29k range. Seeing as the RS is AWD with an all new motor and interior refresh. I can't see it being under 35k.

Early estimates are in the 40k range which is (imo) hard to justify.

There's so many other cars even in the Ford line up (40k is GT money).

I never really understood the RS, I'd rather get a cheaper hot hatch (GTi, ST, WRX sedan) and still have a great time/value, than spend entry luxury/pseudo-sport car money on a super ver. ST?

Still, I'm glad Ford is making the RS, at least they'll be more goodies for the EB.

I see it as the STI hatch that Subaru never built. I started noticing them lately, like them and then figure that should the time come, I can grab one of these instead

I'm the guy who wanted the '12 Golf R and look stay at them passing by as I drive down the road. This is the reason I'm glad I never bought one in the past

Just what color now

Why do that though instead of getting the CLA45 AMG as someone mentioned. That car is as fast as the 5.0 and it gets very good mileage and only starts at $48K

No manual offered, and then once you begin to option it...

Actually buying a CLA45 puts you over $55k, most on my lot are over $60k. Options are like GT350 options, very expensive and very desireable.

Some people don't care what others think of their car ;) I buy cars for me and not for others. If you buy a car to get girls then the RS is probably not for you though, I agree.
If you buy cars for girls, you have no personality and are the text book definition of a tool lol. As said, buy the car for your own tastes, not someone else's. I know I do.

Back to the point at hand $40k well be pretty reasonable imho. The exterior looks phenomenal, the interior will most likely be tastefully done as well, the awd system is supposed to be pretty decent from what I have read too. Idk who has actually driven an sti or an evo but their interiors aren't very good. Most likely the reason for them being significantly cheaper. My biggest qualm with either car is the sound system being complete shit and the MPG's being the same as a v8. If the base model focus RS has a better interior and sound system than the current sti limited, I say its worth it. The only thing the RS would lack is the superior AWD system the Sti offers.

Exactly what I was thinking :cool:
Me too. I actually like our little cousin.

I have a lot of respect for her because it's a high performance hatchback with more HP than most of her competition and has extra chops with the new all wheel drive. With 345 HP, I can see the Eco Boost owners with 310 HP looking through the Focus part bins to see what could be used as a Mod. Especially maybe the different turbo and intake.

Looking at her est. go fast, 0 - 60 is 4.5 sec with that all wheel grip!

In stock trim, 0 - 60 for the Mustang GT is about 4.5 sec too, with 2 wheels pushing.

Stock GTs hoping to show who is the baddest should probably remember to stay on dry, straight, long runs against this little cousin. :gossip:

Ford execs knew that, thought about it and they just figured to go for it! :clap2: Mustang people usually are not Hatch people anyway.

HP hatchback people, GTI, blah, blah blah, meet our little cousin, just for you to play with.:ford:

Cars like BMW, Audi, WRX, she'll be seeing you on the tracks.

It might come with a "drift" button along with the launch feature.

In advance, I don't like the big WRX sized spoiler either but IMO she has a mean look about her in stock trim.:paddle:

I'm a long time Ford fan and cheer every time they take the time to step up to competitors and overwhelm. Ford is just doing something they do now and then. Thinking Boss 302 vs the reigning M3 :clap2::ford:

DD is the Mustang

Toy is the FoRS

At least that's my plan:cool:

That would be awesome. If the RS is as good as it's been in Europe it would be well worth the money.

I remember some dude imported an RS into the U.S. through Mexico and it was something like $50k. This was the last generation though.
