Hey guys, I’m sure this question is exhausted but I wanted to ask to confirm my choice. After lots of research I definitely want to go ESS for my 10r80 given the benefits it has with the powerband. 10 speed and centri’s seem to go together extremely well. Given I live in Canada I’m limited to 94 Petro or 93 shell/esso. Was originally going to go g3 with 120mm but now for my needs I think a g2 with 120mm will be better for me. Is this the wise choice? Looking to make 650-700whp with room to grow ever so slightly with methanol injection. I ordered OPG and crank sprocket for those who ask! Going to go with Lund. 1050x injectors + Dw415 and g3 spec intercooler in the mix as well.
Cheers!

I would suggest to go with Wengerd tune for your 10r80.
Why do you suggest them? Right now I’m fbo which I know isn’t much for NA and tuned by Lund 93. Even now would Wengerd be better?

There is a night and day difference when it comes to 10r80 transmission tuning.

Can you explain a bit more? Did you have Lund before?

My 10r80 would flare in between shifts with Lund and they would blame my transmission being bad. I bit the bullet and went with Wengerd and somehow my transmission started shifting wonderfully again.

Once you start to have issues with your 10r80 with Lund, you are on your own.

Most people here hate Lund because they act like d-bags and many have experienced poor customer service. Everyone who has Wengerd is going to recommend them because it’s what they spent their money on and he’s not a d-bag. For what it’s worth, I am tuned by Lund. This topic has been beat to death, if you want the history search the forums.

To get 680whp, a g3 will be better. G2 makes a little less power

Lund sucks I wish people would read around a little. It's a crap shoot if you're going to get a good tune + customer service. If you're going to spend 1300 bucks you might want to go with someone who is known for good customer service in case you want to change other things.
If you buy a Lund tune you get what you get. If you want them to look at a log for you because say, one of your O2 sensors go bad, then they will charge you to just look at a log. Lazy as fuck to me. Takes 2 seconds to do that.
I don't get why you say G2 and then also say you want room for growth. It's literally their worst option.
--650-700 whp.....
-G3
-120mm
-93
-BAP or a fuel pump like you mentioned but changing the fuel pump to later change again makes no sense to me. (If you're going to go bigger later you'll need a fuel system hence changing the pump again)
-the 1050s are a good choice especially for future.
-opt for the G4 intercooler and X impeller for future like you stated.
-OPGs are personal choice good luck.

Thanks for all the info! By room to grow I don’t mean anything truly crazy. This will still always be a street car and a more or less DD. I’m saying if I get 650-690whp I’d like room to potentially hit 750-790. Just shy of 800whp. I don’t think I would honestly ever go beyond that.

G3 w/ 120mm and 93 octane is going to get you ~680.

G2 w/ 120mm and 93 octane will get you ~640

I wouldn't waste my time/money doing OPG with the setup you are going with.

Go with the tuner you already paid for and when/if you ain't happy, switch.

Tuner still may require a fuel system in the future. Thats why I wouldn't dick around with a fuel pump with your initial set up. Would just get a BAP and call it a day.

My g2 with a 115mm pulley made 680hp on cc performances dyno near Kitchener Ontario on 93. The g2 will max out around 840-850 on e85.
