I like that we are calling 850whp "low". There are a lot of things WRONG in this world, but the car hobby, particularly the Coyote platform, is not one of them.
it’s “low” because a change in pulley size and tune can be capable of well over 1000, so relatively in terms of forced induction on a coyote, 850 is generally not very high. but in terms of horsepower in general, 850 is a lot

Yeah technology is always improving. I'm sure in 5 more years with all this technology many people will have a "fast" electric car. It's almost too easy to make a fast car now, you can pretty much just get the recipe from watching YouTube.

I remember in the old pushrod 5.0 days a stock engine would split the block much past 500 wheel. Then the 4.6 2 valves would bend the rods or knick a piston around 550 wheel, we'd get a little over 600 out of a 4 valve. Then the 03 cobra came out and was fully forged from the factory but would melt a piston or lift the head around 800 of so. Now the current stock coyote engines are going over 1000 rwhp and lasting a little while. I wonder what these mass produced engines would be like in 10 more years if electric cars wasn't a thing.

I get it. I built mine to hopefully handle 1200whp, but I don't ever plan on getting anywhere near that. It's just an amazing time for HP that we live in. I remember when the cover of one of the big car magazines, (I forget which one now), In the late 1980's or early 1990's had a "street legal" 1968ish Dodge Charger that was running 10's and it was a really big deal. It had to drop the stock exhaust and put a set of clip-on's to do it, so it wasn't really street legal at that point, but it was a big deal back then. Now we have mini vans that would eat a 1986 Mustang GT for lunch and guys running around at "low hp" numbers at 900wheel. It's pretty awesome to see how far it's all come.
