The A10 still keeps the RPM in the power band the M6 drops below peak
I’ve only NLS a few times in my car with the Wot Box, but there isn’t a whole lot of rpm drop there that would typically be associated with using the clutch to shift, which surely causes more rpm drop. I suppose depending on the amount of kill time (ignition cut) programmed into the Wot Box, this would vary.

M6 drops below peak
with the 18+ MT82 yup.
our 15-17 MT82 does a great job staying in the powerband.
better when you change the gear ratio in the diff.

And the lowly Shelby 350 does not get “no lift shift”, no 10 speed, no paddle shifters, no engine rpm help… just a VooDoo that sounds like Chewbacca gargling.
I’ll be happy to lose a drag race to any A10 GT as long as Chewbacca gargles along with the Ford Philharmonic 32-valve Orchestra.

I remember having that conversation with my father in the mid '70's. He contended that automatics were faster than manuals. Being a teenager I argued against it. Now I really can't say if '70's automatic technology was faster or not, you certainly wouldn't have convinced me it was then. But it's pretty undeniably true now.
This I find hard to believe, growing up we had Foxbodys and I don't remember ANY auto Fox out running a manual Fox... not once.

I saw it all the time on the drag strips.

You would need to be shifting with Michael Jackson's glitter glove to outrun the A10 stock for stock
The only way a 6 speed manual car will beat an A10 car is to do as you said with the sequin glove. Keep it in the glove compartment to use as needed and play this song by Bobby Jimmy and the Critters on the car stereo.

Follow these tips and you WILL NOT lose to an A10.

LOL few people seem to understand the enjoyment behind driving stick.

"The autos are much faster than the manual." - they always whine.

If speed is all they care about, then why buy an automatic gas car when an electric vehicle is even faster? 👀

The auto 10sp allows for better torque multiplication than the manual 6sp. In the auto, you have 6 under driven gears, with 7th gear being 1:1. In the manual, you only have 3 under driven gears (18 & up), with 4th gear being 1:1. The HP between the two is the same but with the additional torque multiplication plus keeping the engine in sweet spot of the power curve better, it dominates in a straight line contest.

As others have said, the A10 stays in the powerband continuously. You purchase the manual for the fun factor.

Honestly these cars are too fast as it is, the a10 makes it even worse lol. Floor it for 2 seconds and you're 20+ over.
At wide-open throttle, what gear will you be in when you get to 80 miles an hour with an A-10?

I got my parents 1961 Buick Le Sabre as a hand me down; automatic of course. It was a 318 cu. in. V8, with a 1 barrel carburetor, and a Powerglide transmission that was a 2 speed.
Now I never won any races against my friends with their 350, 4 spd manuals, or the Ford 390 or 351's, but I made them work for their wins, and they were always impressed with that Buick.
I understand the powerglide has become a popular transmission for dragsters.
Just thought I'd throw that into the discussion.

Every time the trans shifts it costs time. 1 shift is fast, no shifts is fastest. Top fuel cars have no transmission. They have a "slipper" clutch.

Yes it would work in a coyote drag car, problem being it would only be good for drag racing and would need replacing every 5 to 10 runs.
You set the clutch to apply just enough force to keep the engine at peak HP for the entire 1/4 mile. Actually you would probably want it locked up around 1000 feet or so.

Computers are good enough these days I wonder if any outlaw street type racers are using this. Probably not since a torque converter does the same thing.

Rambling over. Carry on
