At wide-open throttle, what gear will you be in when you get to 80 miles an hour with an A-10?
I've been told Ahem :) Top of third I believe...

Seemed like my 2021 Mach 1 was faster than that. But it banged shifts so fast I didn't know 3rd to 4th. Much less I had no time to look down at anything going that fast. WOT was a blast on the M1 A10. Now I am adjusting to a DC 8 speed. I do have a HUD now, lol.
Not to mention it may not have gone 3rd to 4th. It may have gone 3-5. That’s the goofy thing about the A10 unless you’re paddle shifting.

yes, ahem. I have been told my six MT tops out in second around 80. :)

and that is why I asked that question to give some perspective
Exactly :). But the 10 speed, the 3-4-5 shifts only drop around 500 RPM between shifts. I use 3-4-5 regularly in manual mode in the twisties. I love a manual, I really do but at my age, the auto is just plain fun to me and easier on the old knees, and I can relax and not have to think on the drive home.

I always thought I could brake and control the car better with a manual. Is this correct? Can a manual be faster than an auto on a winding track because of better braking and control?

Since the A10 has paddles I would say it would be a driver's race. Discounting that the A10 will probably overheat and burp fluid ofc.

Ford Performance did that with the GT350... but we have to stay on the track... not the drag strip.

Which is more fun to you, track or strip?

I'll take the GT350 with Chewbacca in the passenger's seat providing weight balance.
The GT folks with their A10's would be able to look in their rear view mirror at the end of the dragstrip and see the sinister looking Shelby front end... it is a mean looking front end; at least we got that!

Meet us at the track, and you will be disappointed… the back of our cars look pretty much the same as yours.
You didn't read my post did you 😂

I said a manual is incredible to drive and feel. I've tracked cars for 15+ years , so yes I prefer the track. But you are just getting but hurt about my comment. I never compared the GT350 to a 10 speed GT. I compared GTs with the MT-82 and the 10 speed.

There is also no comparison between a GT350 and a GT on a track regardless of the transmission type. The GT350 was bred to be a track monster. But do not kid yourself you put a 10 speed in a GT350 it'll whoop the tremec's butt. Case and point with the dark horse tremec and 10 speed. The 10 speed is faster on the track and strip.

So lets just read peoples posts clearly next time :like: 😂

Cheers man

I've never had my A10 overheat on track. Over 15+ track days not once did it over heat, I did have my diff get rather hot but not the trans.

How did you mis-read or mis-interpret my post?

I simply was saying that a GT with a 10-speed will beat a GT350 on the dragstrip.

I was giving props to the GT.

Butt hurt.................... NO.

You'll get there man, the GT A10 definitely overheats once you start really pushing it.

Glad to see a Chewbacca comment when mentioning the GT350. The legend must live on about Chewy gargling.

Should replace Power Less, with Power Less Blender lmao this actually made my day (considering how much money I had to painfully drop on stuff I didn't intend on purchasing)

Oh so you just responded to my post to make a comment completely unrelated to what I was responding to. Gotcha ✌🏻
