100% normal. A positive displacement blower Coyote is different from a turbo car for example in how the power comes on. Gotta remember boost rises with RPM in a blower car. As someone who had owned tons of turbo cars before, that was very strange to experience the first time. OP, in my experience with my old Whipple F150, a tune woke it up tremendously especially the trans tuning. Out of the box, the Whipple stage 2 was very lethargic (good enough for only pump gas with the stock pulley) but after several tune revisions, E85 and a smaller upper pulley, it was a completely different beast. But, you will just never get that part throttle low end torque feel like you would with a turbo setup. Get a good tune.

Not really. It will be pretty close to peak as soon as you floor it even at low RPM. It will rise a little bit but that's about it.

A centrifugal is the one that gains with RPM

Look at the boost curves at the bottom of each graph.

Thanks all!

I drove the car again today, this time I put my foot in it harder. Feels way better, guess I just need to drive more aggressively.

Car is a 6 speed manual by the way.

I will have to go and recheck my old logs. I distinctly remember not seeing full boost on that setup until the upper RPMs. The boost curve was not flat. I know it was something I didn't care too much about....but the 10R80 helped mask some of that.

I feel no low end torque with my turbo setup. Car doesnt start getting into power until like 5.5k rpm

I thought this might happen:) I installed a VMP Odin a few years back and at first I was not impressed. It turns out that I was just not giving it enough gas:) The tune from VMP is setup on purpose to not add much power/boost until the very upper part of the driver throttle demand to keep it safe for the average driver. My guess is the Whipple tune is similar.

A new tune can address that.

Agreed, I'm definitely going to look into a new tune. Any recommendations?

The car still will never make boost if there's vacuum on the throttle. The higher the RPM the farther down you have to push the gas to get any boost.

Same boat here, but with a VMP Odin! Tuner just told me it's normal that a stock GT pulled on me at the dragstrip.

OP,
what mode are you driving the car in? Normal? If so, give SPORT mode a try, without using the paddles first. It wakes up the car as does turning traction control off and then if you REALLY want to get daring, there is a way to COMPLETELY turn of traction control as well.
Also try Drag Strip mode.
It probably doesn't make any difference in power on my stock GT, but it feels like it remaps the traction control and, more importantly, the throttle map.
At an RPM where my throttle response was rather lazy, Drag Strip mode makes the response a lot quicker and more satisfying.

Then again, I don't drive in Drag mode all the time because I think it increases fuel consumption.

OP you can buy software like Pcmtec and the dongle (about $350 total) and remap the throttle pedal torque response to your personal liking. This is one of the very simplest things you can do yourself in a tune.

What size turbo or turbos are you running?
Twin 62s I think. Wastegate set at 7psi. Isn’t hitting 7psi until like 6k rpm I think if you do a roll.
