If you sold your Mach 1 tomorrow, what’s next?

Mach 1 owners — honest question for those of you who’ve thought about moving on:

If you had to let your Mustang Mach 1 go, what would you replace it with?

I’m not talking about a “better on paper” car, but something that actually scratches the same itch — driver engagement, character, usable performance, maybe even some daily comfort.

Would you stay in the Ford family (Dark Horse?), go German (Cayman / 911), something like a BMW M2/M3, or even jump to something totally different?

Curious what you’d realistically cross-shop and why. What did you consider before buying your Mach 1, and what would pull you away from it today?

I’d probably get a Dark Horse HP. Ideally I’d get a 2020 350R, but in reality a different price range for same miles, and no coyote.

69 Mustang Fastback Shell - build track car
Nissan Z - Just a really pretty car. I loved the 240Z growing up.
Current Corvette - Turnkey
Porsche - I'll have one someday.. Don't care which one.. Old or new.
Toyota Supra or GR86

I love cars and engineering.. Old and New.. but it's really hard to beat a newer car with an old car that you modify. It takes a lot more money and aggravation.

If I had to go new, probably a Tremec HP Dark Horse. Much the same what I have now. But if I have to "upgrade" I would get a S550 GT500.

Probably a Caymen GT4. It's a bit out of my pay grade, but I think I could make it work if I had proceeds from sale of the Mach 1.

GT 500 would be the only car I would consider to replace the Mach.

My current pay/keep the m1 and im just adding to the stable:
-C7 Grand sport/Zo6

trade the M1 in:
-current gen m2/m4

save a bunch of money and trade in the m1
-911

money is no object and i just have it for some mythical reason:
-911 custom specked or used higher trim
-aston martin

I just got my Mach 1 a month ago and i am loving being back in a true manual. But...

I would have 3 cars on my Radar if I was moving on

1. 2020-2022 GT500 - Because of course. Amazing car
2. C8 Corvette - I am a Ford guy but Chevy really knocked it out with those cars.
3. Newer Supra - These have really grown on me. Id have to drive one first but I like them

Same opinion as before I bought the Mach 1 - only 911, probably 911 Carrera 4S or GTS. But it costs 3x what I paid for the Mach 1, so it's complete nonsense. And I doubt it would actually provide more joy, no way.

Assuming new:

Dark Horse HP Tremec (maybe A10 since wife cannot drive stick well)
C8 Z51 plus a bunch of suspension and chassis mods

The two below I haven't researched, they would have to be track ready for HPDE with fluid changes, tires, alignment and pads.
CT4V or CT5V (I have a kid now so I'd consider a back seat)
BMW M3 Competition? 4-door (same as above)
