Neighbors complaining about cold start-ups

When the police want to cite you but can't hang their hat on something they charge you with disturbing the peace. Several officers told me this and said a lot of times the judge throws it out because it was a BS charge. When something is subjective judges have a problem with it. I know a number of LEO's well. I know several judges well and have been told this numerous times. The system was not to designed to destroy our freedoms and most judges recognize this.

I am in the same boat I have an X pipe and I am running Flowmaster outlaws, I told the guy the construction vehicles and trash truck that drive by at 7am are louder than my car, and in my state this exhaust is legal (MA) The initial startup is the loudest point of the idle in less than 25 seconds the car idles down to just above stock levels.

They can suck it. And in my case I am starting my car at 12pm and they complained not 6am... So you will have one in every neighborhood or condo complex, and guess what if you had a harley they could do nothing about it either so.

SP headers w/ a full 3" exhaust and magnaflow comp AB's.

The car doesn't get used for daily duties, and my cold starts are usually in the garage. No complaints from the neighbors (apt complex) so far.

Well from page 1 to here without reading in the middle is an interesting jump. Someone should invent some type of muffled cold start attachment and everybody can be happy.

Check out Livernois's reply in this thread. Wish more tuners/calibrators would have chimed in, but removing the cold start sounds like an easy thing to be added to any custom tune.

Ok, all you noisy bastards I've got a solution for you that I tested this weekend. The map labeled Stock, is a stock 2015 start up timing lookup, the map labeled Modified is the one I tried and can tell you that cold start up is the same as a hot start, so ask your favorite tuna to modify your Cold Start Retard tables (Drive and Neutral).

Note that ERT = Engine Run Time and ECT = Engine Coolant Temp. The map with all the minus values is the stock map, the map with 50 to 180 degrees all the same is the modified one. I left 35 degrees and colder cuz I live in TX and my baby doesn't get that cold.

Also not that the retarded timing is meant to help heat up the cats faster, so don't know if there is any bad impact to the cats
