So, if I get this right, the consensus is that if you don't like loud exhausts waking you in the morning, you are a fussing liberal that deserves to get shot...and if you go to neighbors house to borrow a cup of sugar in SC, you better wear body armor.
Only if you come in the middle of the night and unannounced, or holding a clock your kid built.

Coupes, cobras etc. had them all
It's one person complaining. Have a buddy with an old big block cammed cutout car start it up a few mornings in a row, then the catback will not seem bad at all. In all seriousness people that complain labour things like this are often liberals plain and simple. Also go put a note on his car stating his note is keeping you up at night.

I was checking the noise laws for GA and it is vaguely written. Therefore whenever a cop "thinks" it is too loud, who can prove he's wrong.

Will have a GT soon and thinking about Borla Sport axle backs but was thinking I too may have issues with neighbors. I will keep the factory ones as back up in case I need them.

You could go Roush Active Exhaust now, I believe, expensive , but you can close off the loud when leaving and open it up after you get out of the neighborhood. Cheaper than moving and keeps the neighbors happy.

I heard a Mustang while filling up at the gas pump today and that one was way too loud! He opened it up when he was 100 yds away....was still too loud.

Loud is subjective not factual. Subjective can piss off and so can any crying bitchy neighbors.
It's factual when the DB meter gets whipped out. I think some states the cop carry a DB meter in their car to give out tickets for illegal exhaust systems.

Well then yeah it's fact IF it's breaking a db rating and the numb nut is using it at the correct distance from the exhaust. If hes putting it as close to the pipe as possible then no. Its also not factual when the state doesnt have a specific db rating. Still too loud is subjective even when law is applied. Its an opinion on whats too loud and a law ia created. In my opinion, f that law. Ill also run no cats too.

If it were to go to trial b/c the officer thought it was too loud, the burden would be on the prosecution to convince a jury, beyond a reasonable doubt, that it was too loud. I don't see the prosecution being able to carry this burden. What is too loud is very subjective and the statute is so vague as to not be enforceable.

yall worry too much about nothing. these are simple bolt on catbacks yall, we aren't just running open headers and letting it dump off at open end of an xpipe. I still can't believe i read about mustang owners (enthusiast? maybe not lol) complain about catbacks being too loud... even touring ones that have resonators or they get multiple resonators welded in on a quiet system like the borla/frpp touring which is ok whyyy?????

just interesting to see the mix s550 has brought in and the varying opinions.

If you want to see some crazy sh*t, go on YouTube and watch the videos of cops taking photos and measuring exhausts, and giving tickets to guys just because they have "dual exhaust" even when the exhaust system is totally stock. :headbonk:

All ages of guys own these Mustangs, so yeah the opinions are going to be all over the whole spectrum. Some dudes like to hear the exhaust, but not be made deaf by it. :D

Well from page 1 to here without reading in the middle is an interesting jump. Someone should invent some type of muffled cold start attachment and everybody can be happy.
