^^^ The non-PP with 6-speed has 3.31 rear end standard, with the 3.55 optional. 3.15 rear end is standard with the automatic transmission.

I have the GT without the PP, but have the optional 19" wheels with lower profile tires which might make it seem a bit more planted. Maybe the 18" wheel/tires make it seem a little more "floaty" and less responsive.

Personally, I love the way my non-PP rides and handles for street driving - and from driving a C5 Z06 for years I think that says something. No track or autocross in my plans, so I'm sure I won't miss not having the PP.

Yes.

I have some regret and wish I had sprung for it.

Sorry, the "floaty" term may be a little much. I didn't notice it much on the tight, slower roads. It was on a couple of 75-80 mph sweepers that had some slight dips where I noticed it. And again, not pronounced just not as flat as I would prefer.

I'm not crazy about the black wheels (or the thought of keeping them clean...) but that's an EZ change.

Sure it's worth it. if it's what you want. Kinda ruins it if you want an AT. The parts are a bargain at $2500. But you have to decide if you are ordering a sports car or a more relaxed GT. I really am happy with my non-PP, and it's better at what it does well (open road, long drives, and slogging through traffic) than a PP would be. But a PP would be better playing Ricky Racer in the back woods. Wish I could have both but like most of us I had to choose.

Me too. I made a snap decision and I think it was the wrong one.

I had a Brembo 3.73 2011 GT and I wanted to try the regular GT. The 2011 was too stiffly sprung and bothered me on rougher roads, especially in the middle of winter when roads around here can get the roughest. At first the 3.73 scared me when I bought the 2011, but the 3.31s in my 2015 bore me way too much.

I could care less about the gears, but the handling difference is stark - feels like a completely different car. I actually think the GT PP rides better overall. It controls bumps much better (rear dampers are way, way better), and all the extra stiffness in the chassis is very apparent. The harshest bumps are harsher, but everything in between feels subjectively better because the body doesn't move around as much.

I think it depends. If you are going to mostly leave the car alone, go with the PP. If you have plans to redo the suspension, wheels/tires, exhaust, etc go with the non version.

I would disagree. All of the chassis bracing (strut tower, K-brace, V-brace, stiffer lateral link), the torsen and the brakes are worth it, even if you plan on modifying.

I was in the exact same position, came from a 2011 GT Brembo car and the two cars are night and day in difference. My 2011 was very stiff and would beat you all over the place on bumpy roads but the IRS in the S550 vs the solid rear axle of the previous models makes sooooo much difference. Even with the PP on the S550 and it being lowered it is still extremely comfortable for what it is, what you get and how it performs.

If you have to ask, possibly not.

As for me, I just wanted the short gearing, the better diff, and the big brakes. The rest is gravy.

I think the stock seats are fine and I just can't give up the heated/cooled feature for the Recaros. They sure look great, though.

Same. Paying $1500 to remove heated & cooled seats ?
