Took my 2010 in today for state inspection and asked if white parking lights are legal in Virginia. I was told they are not. Looking up code on the internetz, it appears that is true. Bummer.

I hear ya. I'm a little concerned they will "overpower" the gills. I may not do the DRL mode but it's nice to have the option.

So, how do you turn on the DRL mode? Tap headlight...what's that mean? Sorry for ignorance. I am definitely buying these, they look SO much better than those Opti7 ones.

It seems like the ECM (or whatever it's called now) was counting the number of low voltages or something and that after a while it was causing problems?? Maybe the car wouldn't start? Maybe I should stay away from the mushrooms...:D

I initially installed mine by removing the foam tape it came with and adding top grade 3M tape but even it couldn't handle the ends. So I drilled up through the original outboard mounting points (spoiler delete car) and into the spoiler. Seller told me that would be fine if I was careful not...

Just received an update from them:

Maybe they confused the "locator" holes with the factory mounting locations? I don't know for sure but I'd be pretty surprised that the mounting points are different. I have a PP so no holes on the outside, yet still has the access holes with plugs as I assume all the cars have. What they are...

I asked the company why the factory "access hole" locations were only used for the two center mounting locations and got this response.

I went out to the garage a bit ago and positioned it on the car again...and when done carefully the gap is only on one side and very slight. I think I'm going to try a tape-only mounting and see how that goes. I can always drill later (though I know getting that tape off is tough).

Looking at mine, there is definitely a metal insert where the screws are supposed to go and the spoiler is hollow so I'm reluctant to do the self-tapping screws...I wonder how that will hold up over time. So, plan now is to drill outer two holes with their hardware/locations and use tape.

OK, I think I'll try the self-tapping screws into the spoiler like Chris did. I'd prefer to have the clean install using the original access points. And I got some 3M acrylic tape. Going to wait for the weekend, though.
