This might get some hate, put I just installed a speedform pedal commander on top of my custom tuned stage 2 whipple and I'm really liking it. No lag, less input for that torque feeling you're missing. For $80 it solves the mushy pedal to your liking without a bunch of revisions from your tuner

Thanks all!

I drove the car again today, this time I put my foot in it harder. Feels way better, guess I just need to drive more aggressively.

Car is a 6 speed manual by the way.
You don’t want it to give you all of the torque when only at a quarter or half throttle. The power needs to be available in a linear fashion. Otherwise you just blow the tires off and it becomes unpredictable and unsafe.

Twin 62s I think. Wastegate set at 7psi. Isn’t hitting 7psi until like 6k rpm I think if you do a roll.
I'm fairly certain that even though the WG has a 7psi spring, it will crack open before 7psi almost like a boost leak, making it feel lazy. Mighly look into a boost controller, although IIRC, you'd want to use a lower psi spring so the controller can control, but it's been a long time since I messed with turbos. Something to maybe look into to get into boost a little sooner. 6k for 7 psi seems pretty bad to me.

If it's a 7psi spring it won't open until 7psi

if he's not making 7psi until 6k he either has too big of turbos or something is wrong. Should be making that by 4-5k all day

I don't think that's the case. Pretty sure it will start to crack open a few psi before the target pressure, and be fully open by target psi, especially with such a weak spring. Not sure if that's the issue, but it would at least be worth taking a look.

I could be wrong, haven't messed with turbos for a while, but I'm pretty sure I remember this.

Well, quick search on Google says I'm right.....

If you trust "AI" without looking into why it gives you the answers it gives you....do you see that part where's it's talking about back pressure?

his problem isn't his wastegate (and he's also making 7psi before 6k unless something is very wrong with his setup)

go look at some dyno charts of turbo mustangs on spring pressure and see where the boost holds at. It's going to hold at spring pressure. If it's higher you have a back pressure problem and if it's lower your spring isn't actually an X lb spring.

Where did I say that it wasn't holding at spring pressure? Boost creep wasn't his issue.

He's the one who said he isn't making 7 psi until 6k, I'm gonna assume he knows what's going on with his ride.

Car probably boost creeps a bit, it will hit 8.5psi on a 7psi spring

I added antilag and it solves my boost issue haha. Still learning the setup. I currently have boost reference for wastegates from manifold and I know lots of people suggest turbo charge side as a reference instead.

I always use manifold or the intercooler pipe (post FMIC) as the source for boost reference. It works best from there in my experience in several platforms.
