Soon as I see your Social Media/IG whatever on the side of your car, I already know, I don't like you. Its sad every car anymore is a tik tok tune/build. Same cars/same tunes/same builds. Same white sunglassed dipsh!t with his manpurse stepping out the car. I miss the days when we were all fighting for 2-300HP and everyone built there own rigs. Car meets were chill and not full of dummys and self snitching pansies. Now if you don't have a Pop tune, social media and 800HP+ you're slow. The older I get, the more I'm Rodney Dangerfielding it. No Respect!

But you do you lol.

I'm mostly thrilled when younger people are still into cars. If none of them cared, we would be a lot more likely to enter a dystopian future where all cars are self-driving and manually driving a car is forbidden on public roads.

And other horrors like ICE restrictions or outright banning.
Yep, this right here. Some of them may have shit taste, but at least they are into cars, or trucks, or ATVs, or motorcycles etc. I pretty much consider manually controlled locomotion to be a human right, but there is a relatively small group of freaks, geeks, and weirdos that think we should all hop in an autonomous pod to go to where we want (they allow).
Nothing against autonomous pods of course if that’s your thing, you weirdos.

I agree there are a lot of goofy and some very hate-able channels/accounts out there. Counterpoint - these are go-getter types who are out there working hard. I like small businesses and I want the good ones to be successful.

I mean these things are just obnoxiously loud unless you have the factory non-active exhaust. I dont feel the the pop/bangs really make a big difference. I'm getting the feeling that some people here were under the impression that this platform was somehow immune to being modified in this way. It's one of the cheapest high horsepower cars you can buy, its gonna get modded like this.

I also can't blame people for wanting it, they see racing streams online and hear the antilag, and loud bangs on decel and they want it for their own car. Its always been like this.

A little burble on decel is fine, and there are some cars from factory that do it. The annoying burble tunes are the ones that pop and bang for an endless amount of time and sound like someone is shooting off fireworks. Around here it’s the Bimmers and the 4/6 cyl Hondas, Infiniti’s and the like. It’s bad enough they sound like lawnmowers with their loud fart can exhausts. Then they add the popcorn tunes that pop and bang for what feels like 30-45 seconds. Way too much.

We all did car mods in our younger days, some of them I’m sure weren’t tasteful to the older crowd, but it seems like these burble/popcorn tunes have pushed far beyond what we ever did. Maybe my memory just sucks 🤷‍♂️

The mentality on the road has shifted. Drivers of all kinds will speed up, pull alongside me, and then slow down just to show off that they’ve got “the tune.” For anyone who’s seen the South Park episode “The F Word,” it’s the same behavior the show mocked — not the slur, but the idea of people demanding attention by making noise. In that episode, the Harley riders kept revving their engines because they wanted the world to acknowledge them. That’s exactly what these burble‑tune drivers are doing now: chasing approval through obnoxious sound.

As a former Harley rider I couldn't care less about the world acknowledging me. I revved the engine because I liked the sound. I'd do it in the middle of nowhere just to hear it. And my exhaust was loud so I'd be noticed. Having been nearly hit more than once by inattentive drivers with quiet pipes I fully believe the adage "loud pipes save lives".
As for the burble tunes, I think they're silly but no more annoying than the obnoxiously loud exhaust on any of the cars/trucks/bikes on the road.

Here in Los Angeles, if the police catch you, you will be issued a fix it ticket to get rid of the tune. It usually also means the exhaust has been modified and in many municipalities here in S. California you can't run modified exhaust. Its really bad with the BMW crowd. I have an M2 with a midpipe on it, but I don't have the MSound button on as thats when you got the pops and burbles. I personally hate the sound.

LOL I used to have a shirt that read: If loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to ride could do! It was more of a track side joke, but a bit of honesty in it.

I had cherry bombs on my 66 302 coupe with 4 speed. Sounded great. Yes it was a 302, not 289.

I am joking but do they ticket them for the missing license plate at the same time :)
