Not with an AT.Doesn't make sense. isnt it a regular thing to downshift while slowing down
Automatics downshift themselves as necessary when you're slowing down. There's no need to do your own downshifting for them unless you can see that a full stop is not going to be required and you want to be in the right gear before you start accelerating instead of waiting for the automated kickdown after you step on the skinny pedal to go. Most people simply let the AT do its thing, although there are times when doing it manually can be a little smoother.
Even with a MT there's no need in normal driving to downshift while slowing unless you see traffic ahead picking up speed again or that the light has changed/is about to change.
