They way I understand it, the adaptive learning is more about the trans itself and not the driver. It gathers data from each shift and if something is going outside the settings (timing, flair, slipping, wear, etc), it makes adjustment to compensate.The 10R80 is an adaptive learning transmission. It takes time for it to learn. It will learn bad habits. The best thing to do, if you don't want to tune, is clear the KAM (keep alive memory) and Adaptive learning tables using ForScan though a OBDII port dongle. Once you do, you'll need to dive it for a while and it will relearn. Be patient, it will be rough before it smooths out. Once it does, and you are happy, go back in with ForScan and "HALT" the learning. Do not use "STOP".
