As long as they don't F it up with a stupid name like "dark horse boss" it'll be intetesting. Otherwise, I'm out.

Given their track record on the S650 names and styling cues so far (FX trim wheels 🤮) I say odds 50/50 at this point.

If Ford comes out with something on par or close to the previous 500 even in current economics it’ll be a bargain for the performance level it’d have. The 20-22’s were a ridiculous bargain in reality for what the car is capable of. People like to complain about pricing, but a regular Gt(great car) is still very reasonable price wise. The upper variants aren’t necessarily meant for everybody. It is what it is. But it’s a great thing the mustang offers a flavor and price point for every buyer that wants one.

I dont even care about a new GT500 at this point. Its gonna be so overpriced that it won't be worth buying.

Who cares what the name is as long as the performance is there. The fact that Porsche names their performance cars with numbers is dumb IMO but the performance is there so who cares.

I like to disassemble things.

I was going to say the same thing. I'm tired of paying a royalty that also includes ass fuckery at the dealer level to boot (as well as when paying for insurance). Call it whatever but do it right.

It matters. Would I replace a GT500 with a "Dark Horse Boss"? No. Its the overall inconsistency from Ford at the top. Do you want heritage? Or a new platform? Why are we possibly co-mingling? Call it a Darkhorse "S" (whatever happened to that thing?) or something that follows the overall message. Or call it a "Boss XXX" if were dipping back to heritage. Mixing the two together is weird and from a marketing perspective it sends mixed messages about what they're trying to do. A Porsche 911 has been a 911 from the beginning, GT cars are named based on racing series homologation, no? (IDK, I'm not a porsche expert).

A Cobra or Cobra R? 100% On board with that.

And we're getting screwed at the dealer level either way, at least at the beginning. Look at the Darkhorse intro and associated markups, and they made at least 9,600 of those in 2024 so not limited production by any means. If this is truly a limited production car, its gonna be ugly. Ford could call it an escort or a contour and dealers are still adding 20k right off the bat.

I hope its awesome. I'd like to have one if it is. But the S650 platform overall just seems "incomplete" for lack of a better term. I hope this car can pull it all together

Yea should be able to fit.the battery pack down the middle and the frivw motor up front still with the ZR1 architecture that currently exists. Should be an absolute monster.

Impressive. Surprised they announced so early with the intro of the ZR1 a little while back. I would be a little miffed if I just got the ZR1.

Will be curious where they price it. I would have to think it’s a pretty significant bump so they don’t totally piss off the folks that ordered the ZR1. ADM will be insane too.

The E-Ray is like 20k more than a C8 and that upgrade gets you the widebody of the Z06 too. Technically speaking, this is actually less of an upgrade from ZR1 to ZR1X than it is from C8 to E-Ray. Will be interesting to see what they do with pricing.
