I think you’re spot on.
Look back at the info that was presented when the GT500 was released. They had a cutaway car, a prototype test car, CFD models, sections of the front coolers, etc.
All we have for this car so far is a background graphic at the reveal saying its for a “new diverse and...
I’m sure its a great performing car. But it’s certainly not a great looking car.
The basic design has no continuity or flow, interior and exterior are plasticy (holy rear diffuser Batman), body lines (or lack thereof) make it look heavy. In fact, i think the styling on this car actually makes...
It has a proven drivetrain, CCBs are almost a given based on the price point its going to be at.
But to me, like the rest of the 650 platform, it is an incomplete effort. The design of the car doesn’t flow. You can see where they made design choices and then said “oops” because they were...
I took a look at a few things trying to get a ballpark price.
Base price for a 2022 Mach 1 700A was 53,000 in 2022. A 2026 Darkhorse 700A base price is 69,000 and change. Thats a 30% price increase for literally the same car 4 years later.
Base price for a 22 GT500 was 76,820. With the same...
You can certainly bet that any “improvements” made should be highly attributed to the tires and reduced weight of the CCBs.
Honestly, thats the only thing I’m interested in. Should bolt right on to my GT500. Since after this reveal she’s not going anywhere.
The module is the same, but the file loaded on each car is different. When you buy them, they’re esentially “blank”. The file has to be loaded based on VIN through the Ford software. If you buy a used one out of a 350, the file is already loaded.
There are a few other threads floating around...
In terms of the Ford Parts website, if you search by VIN, the VDM is under “Electrical”, “Control Modules” and is labeled as “Control, Electronic damper control”. At least thats how it is when I put in my GT500 VIN.
Keep in mind, if you buy new, I believe it has to be flashed with the correct...
Everything will bolt into place, but the GT350 magneride internals are different. I would assume the damping is stiffer. There is even a difference between the 350/350R. As a result, the calibration on the VDM (vehicle dynamics module) in the trunk behind the subwoofer is also different for...
It matters. Would I replace a GT500 with a "Dark Horse Boss"? No. Its the overall inconsistency from Ford at the top. Do you want heritage? Or a new platform? Why are we possibly co-mingling? Call it a Darkhorse "S" (whatever happened to that thing?) or something that follows the overall...
As long as they don't F it up with a stupid name like "dark horse boss" it'll be intetesting. Otherwise, I'm out.
Given their track record on the S650 names and styling cues so far (FX trim wheels 🤮) I say odds 50/50 at this point.
My other problem with the dash is that the graphics, while neat I guess, are a half finished effort. Imagine spending 80k on a Darkhorse, and having to look at a GT on your home screen, every drive mode change, etc. They couldnt even write the software to give you graphics of the correct car...
As per the real The Parts Farm page, "thepartsfarm" was some low life POS's attempt at a horrible scam copy. Just like their equally terrible current scam page you asked about in your initial post.
As per the legitimate The Parts Farm:
I believe there were issues with the transmission cooler lines leaking where they connect to the trans on some 2020 models. Probably worth checking that area while car is on a lift if you can.
If its an HP car, check and see if it comes with the adjutable shock mounts in addition the the items...
Before you decide to pull the stickers, make sure you check the prices of what it would cost if you ever change your mind.
To put it mildly, they aint cheap.
