Agreed. When properly implemented voltage boosting can be an elegant solution. Unfortunately most go for the sledge hammer approach that leads to a host of problems. Many FSCM's will not accept more than 17v before it will MIL code.

Your BL option 2 may be dependent on the level of monitoring and load parameters the FSCM has. For example, without an insufficient and variable load on GM vehicle FSCM's they will over time produce MIL's. Crate engines, since GM does not know what will be attached, tend to have a much wider acceptance range for the attached pump.
We've run as much as 22v with no issue popping up. However, with losses through power wiring and the FPDM itself, only 19-20 volts actually make it to the pump.

You are correct that the FPDM diagnostics will most certainly report an error back to the PCM if it's just sending a control signal to a BL controller rather than a pump. The Ford FPDM measures impedance on its output and will alert the PCM if there's either too high (open circuit) or low (short circuit). This could possibly be handled with a simple circuit or better yet, just switch off the fuel pump diagnostics in the calibration.

Agreed. There is a metric shit-ton of logic on the back side (ECM and FPDM) that we cannot see or change, all in name of hopefully keeping Tunerz from wrecking things.

Two items that will make FPDM's unhappy is a short to ground on the negative pump output or a sustained insufficient or excessive load on the positive side. After seeing how the hardware is mounted and heat sinking in the OE FPDM it's not surprising that they are power limited. Some of the boards have the maximum power capability noted on them, and it's just enough to usually drive a 450, maybe a 525lph pump. That's another reason why there are 2x FPDM's in the GT500. That's one performance metric where the VaporWorx controller shines. I've driven (in older controllers) three 450's from a single output. With the current dual output controller there is a version to drive four 525's (one lift, three pressure pumps.)

When you and your buddy were digging into this, were you guys able to determine which wire was pulsed using the testing method described by @CarlC in post #201?
He can figure this out in a few minutes on his car, but we didn't do it back then. Since then we determined the FPC ouput from the PCM can likely be configured to PWM the hot or the ground, so it's a bit of a moot point I believe.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with the KPM system and been done with it, but now can't really justify the cost of scrapping what I have (as I assume most others with return systems would agree)

We have seen a real need for fuel systems that work as OE intended with the increased fuel delivery to support extra power.
Over many years, attempts at supplying extra fuel have been due to necessity however with shortfalls.

Update: I received the last of my fuel system components from VaporWorx/Aeromotive yesterday. I purchased their FourX PWM controller to handle all three of my DW400 pumps .

There have been some product updates made to the system, in that the controller now has a cover over the terminals and the Smart Relay Controller is no longer needed with the newer design.

It is compatible with any brushed fuel pump system. I went this route because I never liked the idea of running naked fuel pumps (not in an anti-slosh bucket) or using a Hobbs switch to run additional pumps, all of which would require the pumps to be running at full speed all of the time. I know many don’t agree with it and that’s okay.

It’s ironic, that one of my buddies send me a video today on Fore Innovations regarding their current struggle that they’re enduring with the business. I’m quite surprised that they even made such a video, but I can also understand their desire to be transparent and try and get out in front of the situation. I wish them the best moving forward and hope they can recover and keep their existing and possibly new customers happy.

Believe it or not, I will have one Fore component in my fuel system and that is their HPFP tee with fittings, which I purchased to make that part of the install easier on me.

how would it all be connected to the bucket? do they provide any installation instructions by any chance? Cause I'd rather be on the safe side and not run 3 naked pumps as well, being in SoCal and all, don't need all that extra heat. Disregard the mention of the Smart Relay Controller, as it’s no longer used with their newest version of the system. They say there’s probably 30’ of wiring in the FourX kit, so that’s plenty to do whatever you need.

I was doing a mockup today to see how/where I might mount some of the components.

Here’s what I may end up doing to mount my vacuum block which will feed the eBoost2, wastegates, BOV, and fuel pressure regulator, as well as the VaporWorx MAP sensor. I want it to have its own dedicated vacuum port.

Of course things are always subject to change, but for now, I’m thinking along these lines.

The Mike Thomas vacuum manifold mount will be mounted underneath the Lo Ram intake manifold. It has a provision to mount a regulator as shown in the photo from his website, but I won’t utilize that feature. Instead, I’ll repurpose one of the mounting holes to mount the VaporWorx MAP sensor block.

I received my Deatschwerks fuel rails with crossover line, 1500cc injectors and fuel pulsation damper today. I really like the quality of the rails, but don’t know for sure yet if they’ll pair nicely with my Holley Lo-Ram intake manifold.

I took photos of the supplied Holley rails too. My first impression is, the Deatschwerks rails are of a nicer looking, lighter and higher quality design with a matte finish, whereas the Holley Rails are gloss black, not as nice looking and heavier.

The fuel injectors appear to be of high quality as well and come with adapter harnesses. I hope I can get away with running the Deatschwerks rails over the Holley rails, but I’ll run whichever ones I have to.

Did you try fitting the rails yet? Mine doesn't seem to fit, not sure what's wrong with it.

I bought the rails separately (just for the crossover line), but the line doesn’t fit with the Holley Lo Ram intake. The Holly came with its own rails which bolt to the sides of the IM, so I’ll end up making my own lines and using a Radium 3 way distribution block.

I know that’s the long way around to your question, but I basically spent $350 for the DW fuel rail kit just for the line which isn’t going to work after all. I may end up using the rails and line as wall art along with my Bullitt IM.

I will make sure to ask the shop that's doing it all what issues they encountered, but so far the only complaint I've got was that the crossover line is being blocked by the coolant pipe so it doesn't fit in. Gonna call DW today and try to see what's up with that.
