For a performance street tire, there are plenty of 19" options 305 and bigger. Hell I have 325s. Maybe not a yok, but honestly I think yoks are just slightly better than the re71s at this point. And Bridgestone makes really shit tire sizes, no matter wheel diameter.

The issue is when you go to slicks. Then 18" is the correct route. You get access to Hoosiers, and every take off, stickers, etc...

18" really is the correct route to go for a track focused car.

Ya those are the ones I saw. They will be smaller than the rear brakes at that point lol
If I was wanting to do 17s with a drag pack they'd be a great choice
Well if your not willing to go down in brake size and switch knuckles/ shave the knuckles then your going to start running into fitment issues if I’m not mistaking the small Rear rim you can fit on these cars is a 18x10 with +45 offset and the front is no smaller than a 19” rim.

your next best option in my opinion is to find a super light weight 20” rim like a hre etc

I dont know if it has been mentioned but there is someone in one of the track mustang FB groups with a 350 that put Mach 1 knuckles and hub on their car to run 18s. They had to switch to m1/PP brembo up front but it is much less than the AP kit.

Im not against the AP kit as I am hopefully a future buyer but just presenting an alternative that I've seen.

sidenote...I drove 5 hours one way last year for 18" take off slicks for $200 (for the entire set). That assured me my move to 18s was the right decision

the move to the AP kit is worth it for the pads alone. I spend $600 for a set of Cobalt pads that last half a season since they're 1in thick. My 350 pads of the same compound lasted 3-4 days typically.

How many 18" wheels are available, that fit on that brake (it is the same like GT PP and Bullitt).

Which brake set up? AP kit and PP brakes fit all the same 18” wheels I’m sure. Haven’t seen an 18” wheel that has the proper back spacing and offset made for our cars not fit. Some wheels are tighter than others. But if going with apex then there will be no issues there

Probably worth it for autocross where the the Mach 1/PP brembo kit is still more than enough, but for track day work the AP kit represents an increase in performance and a reduction in size.

Which brake set up?
The PP.
Had the impression that the AP caliper is slimmer regarding possible inner wheel diameter compared to PP?

I don’t disagree with you. But everybody wants to participate at different levels. Dropping $6k on a brake kit for 3-4 weekends may not be worth it to some. PP brembos have gotten all us 5.0s far enough for there to not be a need to upgrade (other than rotors for weight).

again, just an alternative that usually isn’t mentioned

It might be but then you have to factor in the width of the adapter to fit the AP caliper to the knuckle. You mentioned apex wheels so I know those will fit for sure

No, not really.
Nate,
I have about four, maybe five video's on youtube that tell a lot more than what you are calling for here. Just put PowerTec 10 into the YouTube search bar and sort through the 15 or so Ecoboost Mustang videos. I show, in one of the videos how to drop 4 tenths off the 1/8 (6 tenths of the quarter just with a wheel and a 30,000 mile warranty street usage tire change.

I have sourced some really good looking wheels that are super light (as light as the Apex) and cost only 238 bucks apiece.

I can't give any direct links here for my Mustang videos because too many forum subscribers get ticked off at me when I do so.

I do have something though that should, make at least one Ecoboost owner happy. How about a full exhaust system and dual muffler set-up that was in use two weeks and 40 miles for 125 bucks (original price $804). Still looks 98% new.You come and get it! If you are interested text me on 704-675-4447. No tech questions other than about the exhaust.
David Vizard- tech editor of PowerTec 10.

Whole bunch of gibberish
The person youre replying to is not only not interested in 1/4 mile racing but drives a GT350 and not an ecoboost. No idea what relevance any of what you had to say has to do with OP's question.
