was wondering about some of the automotive you tubers such as
stang mode
woman driven
rated r cars
tunnel chaser
zander13
found this the other day it’s from last year and then realized it was click bait..lol
but he’s definitely slowed down.. ow he’s thinking he’s going to be able to afford a GTD.. this guy just never knows when to quit and get himself out of this huge financial hole he’s dug himself into..I don’t know his financial situation now. It at one point he had a 1k plus car payment and had to be upside down
.
I watched all of them at different point in time, but I fell away from them. I'd rather watch the everyday person post videos of their exhaust setups and other modifications than watch people push merch and giveaways in an attempt to dig themselves out of a financial hole from buying car after car.

I watched Rated R Cars (now Ducati Diaries), but after Brian got rid of his 2018 GT, I stopped watching.

David, That Dude In Blue, is an exception. I've been watching him from the start, and he's kept it humble, consistent, and he never let the success go to his head.

Raiti's Rides is excellent too. Joe and Lori seem very down to earth, and I enjoy their content.

I think the likes of Joe Rati are just providing free advertising for the dealer who supplies the vehicle. I guess it's a win-win. Dealer gets free publicity (other than loaning the vehicle out for an hour or so), and Joe get a vehicle to make content for his channel. Wash. Rinse. repeat.

Have severely culled my recent list of YT subs (and that includes Rati) but watching;
https://www.youtube.com/@ExtraThrottleHouse/videos
https://www.youtube.com/@ThrottleHouse

Like the Icon series on Hagerty.
https://www.youtube.com/@Hagerty
The production value that goes into these videos is world-class.
(I work in TV production and these are the polar opposite of the typical attention-seeking imbecile who wanders around with his phone on a selfie-stick making everyone nauseous with the wobble-cam video and zero editing skills).
I lost count how many times I watched the Dark Horse Icon video whilst waiting for my own S650, albeit only a GT.

And a fellow Aussie who has a background in engineering and automotive journalism.
Aimed at the Aussie market, but a lot of the content is universal.
He calls a spade, a spade, and cuts through the crap - this is what I like.
https://www.youtube.com/@AutoExpertJC

And the occasional video from Sarah 'n Tuned gets my attention to break to monotony of watching dudes all the time!
https://www.youtube.com/@SarahnTuned

I have subbed to the usual CJs, AM Mustang, and Steeda. But they just want to flog their wares. These retailers have their fare share of fanboys that obviously receive kickbacks, but it's easy to see through that.

Have quite a few others, but they are associated with the on-line automotive portals that just regurgitate the spin given to them by the vehicle manufacturer/importer, and are hardly impartial.

And a quite a few car detailing channels, although most of them have become advertising outlets as well, with a diminishing number of how-to videos that they started out doing.

Most of my YT viewing is on the desktop now with Firefox and a YT ad blocker.
I've had a gutful of ads.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fi...la.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search

If your a Google Chrome user, you'll discover that ad blockers will be hard to come by easily.
Funny about that.

Love Throttle House, those guys are awesome. I’ll always be a fan of Leno’s Garage, even though he rambles a little more than he used to. Those two plus Bladed Angel and Raiti are my lone automotive YouTube subscribes. Oh, and FordGuy, I like that he just shows various cars & coffees, PITS, Mustang Week, etc with no talking. Just cars. Perfection

Youtube has become a bit of a cesspit. Full of shitty ads, digital panhandlers, algorithm manipulators, support-me- on- this-other- platformers (patreon?). And when you make it your career like these guys try to do, you run out of content and ideas. All the thumbnail previews have become insufferable.. punchable face after punchable face with a stupid expression trying to get you to click on their crap so they get another couple bucks.

I must be way out of touch, I have never heard of or seen any of these you tubes. The only you tube I watch is if I don't know how to do something I try to find a short how to. Most haven't been car related, but machining related.

I will say I sort of agree and sort of disagree. The guy basically kisses the ass of every car he reviews. I would not go to him for a fair review of the pros and cons of a car.

He is great at showing off a car you are interested in though. And the dude himself just seems like a genuine and good dude.

I'd say that's always what YouTube has been. But there's always been enough good stuff if you can find it that makes it worth it.

I only watch a handful of channels. M539, because I've always been a BMW guy at heart. GarbageTime because its hilarious nugget car content. Mighty car Mods is fun because they don't do ridiculous clout type BS and I like to see the Japanese and Aussie cars they have.

I used to watch Cletus McFarland every now and again, but him and every other American muscle car channel I've watched don't do it for me. Cletus just has so much money that it isn't really watchable IMO. I prefer heavy technical, repair/modding content. The type of content where its a real person in their real garage trying things out and making power on their own. Content where the person just slaps a Whipple on and goes and hoons around is my least favorite.

IG is where a lot of this stuff has moved these days, but its all fake. You see guys paying money for photographers to capture their car perched on some boat ramp or in an abandoned factory and then you find out its on racelands and rep wheels with an intake, RGB headlights, and the loudest cheapest exhaust they could find. Zero effort goes into the build quality, its all garbage clout chasing. Real car content exists in build threads still.

Also! You guys should check out WatchWesWork, the guy is really interesting and its a good mix of auto repair, machining, and general engineering content. An honest guy making honest videos.
