Wrench and shift knob..."reviews"Women.driven does other stuff...................![]()
The most truthful statement I've seen in a long time.Throttle House - The most entertaining car reviews since Top Gear
Yeah, the channels I listed were primarily birthed from the S550 launch and subsequent 5 year stretch. I think it's getting more difficult to make a full time go of it anymore. Many of these small you tubers sunk while trying to swim the "you tube channel"To be fair you've named some terrible channels and even the big ones move on/step away from time to time. I still watch primarily YouTube as I can't stand much of the stuff on TV now. Some great YouTube channels to look into if you're into more than just crashing stuff for clicks.
Adam LZ - Import car builds and Formula Drift competitor
AJ Hartman Aero - Aero stuff, racing, and car building
Driftworks - Euro car builds and track day content
Finnegan's Garage - Drag Racing builds and boat builds
Harry's Garage - Old Evo magazine creator and his cars and travels
Misha Charoudin - Blasting other people's cars around the Nurburgring
Rob Dahm - Rotary builds, engineering, how to rebuild an Indy Car by yourself
Speed Academy - Middle Aged canadians build 90's and 2000's imports primarily
StanceWorks - Ground up one man builds of Honda powered Ferrari's and Ferrari powered Ferraris
Throttle House - The most entertaining car reviews since Top Gear
Vin_Tra - The best "post-Hoonigan" channel
Making yourself a "one-make" channel is severely going to impact your viewership. I understand that most people can't start off out of the gate with buying and building 6 cars at once, but there's a reason many people start with older cars and move on from there. The fan base is larger (former and current owners) and you can acquire them for less making the builds cheaper and easier. The problem with this route is it has to be self-funded for the most part as there isn't as much in the way of "new sponsored parts" being built that you can score for free. Once you clear this hurdle and build viewership you can get into the new builds and giveaway game which seems to be working for most people.Yeah, the channels I listed were primarily birthed from the S550 launch and subsequent 5 year stretch. It was a great phase, but as many have said the content gets old quick and unless you have the cash or debt tolerance to purchase newer cars and continue to mod and build things get stale quicky.
A lot of what I saw was just unnecessary modifications for the sake of getting viewers.
The only reason I was watching at that time 6was due to the fact that I was new to the Mustang scene and had bought my first "fun" car ever (2016 GT). Eventually the newness of these channels wears off.
The guys and gals that can really expand their content to multiple areas or who are making a living doing what they are filming (Matt's off road recovery) do well. They also have a certain charisma, honesty or likeability that keeps people watching.
Many expand into other areas outside of you tube if they are a big enough influencer or merch sales and Patrion overtake you tube.
I know a you tuber with over 1mil subscribers via my family tree who is at that point of "ok, do I really need or want to continue doing this?'
Hooves and car wizard are great. Wizard does give a lot of insight on what to look for in used cars on a lift. Legit cars for me is hit and miss. I bought a product kit from him and was very disappointed In it. Everything (foam cannon, wash mitt) was garbage, the clay mitt has been good. I wouldn't buy anything again from his channel. But some of the stuff can be interesting.I don't watch any mustang specific channels, but I do watch Hoovie, Legit Street Cars, Car Wizard, and Tony Angelos channel Stay Tuned
