Gents, I'm hear to sing the gospel of UHP AS tires. I know DD'ing these cars isn't for everyone, and yes the difference in steering response does sap some of the fun, but now it's like an 8 instead of a 10. That's it! It's still got the engine and the noise, plus you get a little ride quality back and don't need to worry about precipitation or parking in the cold.

Beaters suck.

That is awesome, good for you that you are able to DD it!
I'm at the stage where my MPSS tires are 5 years old (16k miles). There is still tread left, but I don't want to push it. I'm going to go with the MP4S tires and finally get rid of the tramlining. Doing any type of cross country trip in the Shelby is nerve racking, especially when you get into construction zones (Milw/Chicago/Indiana) where your hugging a concrete barrier and going through a narrow 2 lane section.
I just don't need that kind of drama.

Which tires did you end up going with? I am definitely not putting them on the GT350, but the daily IS500 could use something that doesn't turn to a hockey puck just because the temps are below 60 degrees.

100%. The ubiquity of orange cones/abandoned construction material/actual road work year round/shit road conditions makes all of Chicago a construction zone at all times to me and I'm slowly desensitizing myself to it with the Shelby. The AS tires and less-precious rims have helped tremendously but I'm guessing a lot of it is in my head since I know we've got plenty of members who have thousands of crack-free miles on their CF rims.

I went with Conti's DWS-06 Plus's. 285/35 all around.

Traded the 350 for 2020 Corvette 3LT Z51 package. 3,500 miles.

You will love the C8. I still think the C7 is the better looking Vette but the C8 performance is outstanding. Good call on the Z51 package too
