This is the best thread in the general section so figure I'd bring it here.

GT350/GT350R owners... all of us either waiting to place an order or waiting for delivery need to pass the time with something to look forward to and to start planning mods.

So let us know what you've done with the car lately and PICTURES please.

FL... especially south FL is turning into Waterworld. Rain everywhere for many days/weeks on a daily basis.

But my car isn't afraid of some showers. So I drove it to fill-up gas and it got wet and holy batman it didn't melt! :D

    :(

Only Mod my car needs. For "Dawkins" sake do not mod these cars. They are perfect. IMG_0901.jpg

I am totally with you on the mod. This is me at track day before the kids graduated to booster-only seats.

Manufacturer is Sunshine. Let me see if I have any info on the models (we sold or gave them away). Info is probably still on Rennlist somewhere.

Oh, and you may not want them - they are metal frames instead of plastic. They were originally designed for airplanes and fold closed. Much heavier than I wanted (and it was a many swear word job to install them in my GTS), but they were one of the few with a narrow enough base to fit the 911 tub.

Thanks for the info. I have an account and could look 'em up on Rennlist.

If you want, search for threads by me (same forum username for 20 years) with the keyword "sunshine". It would be in early 2011, right after I got the GTS.

Yea I know that mod. Can turn even the most badass vehicle uncool ;)

I assume most guys are still breaking it in and enjoying their cars too much before we see any risky moves.

No gateralloys or whatever they are for mine... no thanks. But I do recommend to clean 'er up real well (and clay bar it except the stripes) and then seal it. I use Blackfire's Crystal Seal... spent a few hours yesterday doing the detail chores and she's sparkly, shiny, and feels soooo smooth! :)

    Earliy this morning...I'm admiring:

What type of clay bar? I am about a month from getting my Shadow Black and want to get off on the right foot with the paint but am nervous about claying it. I don't want to just wash and wax if the paint is "dirty". Did you use the clay spray or the actual bar? I've been looking at Chem Guys but somewhat overwhelmed by their product line. Nice collection BTW!!

I use Griot's clay bar and clayed it while the car was soaking wet with their shampoo and use running water from your hose. The key is good constant lubrication when you clay.... not that hard to do. Just ample pressure so the bar glides over to remove contaminants. Don't put alot of pressure when you clay bar across. Watch online vids too so you get more guidance.

Lots of good products out there. Can't go wrong with the quality brands (e.g. Adams, Griots, Meguiars, Blackfire, Pinnacle, etc. etc.)

Question about the wax and/or sealant: shouldn't you let the paint cure a little while longer before sealing?

I am looking at X-pel also, wondering what it will do to the mat stripes?
I don't want to turn them to a gloss.

My car was produced and was sitting at FRAP since 7/29... no concerns from my end. Plus she was begging for an in & out detail. :D
