First drive for 2025. Drove the 85 miles for work today. So glad winter is over.

Went out in the garage and stared at it. Temps are in the high 50's. but still waiting for a good rain to wash the salt clouds off the roads here in WI.

Aaaggghhh I'm so jealous at all of you tracking your cars!! I really want to track the R but risk of losing ESP protection freaks me out.

Separately, I had my first legit encounter with dangerous stupidity today. It's nearly 80, suns out, it's Friday, and we're nearly out of Winter. In Chicago that's basically like "bring out your shitboxes and best Max Verstappen impersonation". Some clown in a previous gen Audi A4 thought tailgating and revving the piss out of that little baby turbo 2.0l engine was going to get me to race through residential neighborhoods. Had my kid in the car and used it as a valuable teaching moment.
1. you should try Black Hawk Farms in south beloit. Short, but fun track to practice your skills on and no crazy speeds.
2. I hear you about the crazy's coming out of the wood work. Just want them to stay far far away...

I had to change the oil in my wife’s Ford Edge, so I had to get the Shelby out of the way of my lift.
Had to warm it up and sneak it out for a little drive while the oil was draining out of my wife’s car.
Came back 1/2 hour later and my wife informed me that the oil was all drained out of her car.
WHAT, how did she know that it was done draining….? :giggle:
I did get the “low battery” key fob warning also.
Going to replace both of them and get lined up with a new battery for the Shelby as it still has the original one in it.

I heard everyone with their motorcycles and sports cars out on Friday evening. There is a stop sign about a mile away and hear them all accelerating aggressively from the intersection. It made me a bit jealous. But, my wife went out of town for the weekend so I got busy under the car getting it ready for the spring. All my fluids are 8 years old (except engine), so I decided to replace them all this year.

drained and filled engine oil
drained and filled differential
drained and filled transmission
replaced fuel filter
installed J&M SS brake lines and clutch line
Installed GT350R calipers

I didn't get to the radiator fluid this weekend. But swapping it over from the orange to the yellow. I'm going to remove the thermostat and hook of a shop-vac to blow air into the engine in hopes it pushes out the coolant that is left over inside the engine block.

I have been wondering about my battery as well. I keep it on a tender so not really taxing it once the winter slumber is over.
By the way, I checked in the "official" manual and it is recommended that you allow a minimum of 1 hour to fully drain the oil out of a Ford Edge.

FYI: Talked to the GM at Galpin Ford in Prescott about Galpin Ford in LA. Turns out that Galpin Ford in Prescott has always been owned by the Galpin family while Galpin Ford in LA was sold off by the Galpin family years ago. To the best of my knowledge, Galpin Ford in LA is the largest volume Ford dealer in the nation.

I think Brandon Ford and Galpin swap that title every couple years 😉

these keyfobs are a bit of a git to take apart and put back together eh? I must check my spare fob as i only changed the main fob batteries last month. No use having a flat spare eh ?

Do you have the newer style fob or the older style one (newer one is more square)? Newer one is much easier to deal with than the older one IMO.
