Thanks for this info! Going to order this part for early spring when I bring the car out of hibernation. You're correct @StangTime
The original GT350 shift knob does have a different thread pattern, that won't fit the S550s.
However, this GT350 shift knob, was designed specifically for the S550, so yes, it is a direct swap.

I will front-load you, with some good information though.
If you have the stock shifter that has the safety collar underneath the shift knob, you have make sure you set the GT350 Shift knob at the correct height, so that it allows the safety collar to fully engage, so you can put the transmission into Reverse.
The GT350 shift knob comes with an extra nut, and that nut is essentially used to adjust the height of where you want the GT350 shift knob to sit on the shifter.
If you don't use that extra nut and you just screw that GT350 shift knob all the way down onto the shifter, as far as it will go, the safety collar will NOT have enough clearance, to fully engage and you won't be able to shift your car into reverse.
It probably took me about 10 tries, before I had everything adjusted properly.
I need to do something like that for my garage, the concrete is so slippery when it's wet (particularly if I have snow on my boots)Well, what I did today (and across the last few days) was not directly related to my GT or Ecoboost. I put my garage somewhat back together after having the floor redone. Now, overhead racks, and some additional shelving as well as paint the walls and ceiling are next. All to have a proper home for the GT.![]()
Indeed, the C-clamp worked like a charm ! I should have think about it soonerSpent an interesting two hours with my friend the 4Lbs hammer removing ONE front strut to hub bolt.
Wish me luck, 3 more to go
EDIT: Might use the C-clamp press I already have (for the rear control arm bearing of the FP track handling ) for the others ...
Looks like your install turned out great! Speaker looks just a little vunerable to a sharp edged object sliding in your trunk. Thought about a grate on it?Replaced the B&O sub with a Polk DB1042 DVC. The difference in bass quality is quite significant, especially with a quality source. SNIP

Is the Polk just an easy remove and replace with the stock sub? Also reading RowdyRams post above, there is no grille cover with the Polk?Replaced the B&O sub with a Polk DB1042 DVC. The difference in bass quality is quite significant, especially with a quality source. Whoever had the car before me really chewed up the trunk rear trim panel so I took it out and sanded out (as best I could) the cuts, scrapes and deep scratches. I tried a flat black paint for plastics but the areas I sanded really stood out so I removed the paint in the test area and used a Rustoleum flat black bed liner paint. 2 coats completely hid the areas I sanded as well as other imperfections in the panel. It looks better than the picture and has a very durable finish to prevent future scuffs, scratches etc.

Thank you - I‘m very pleased with how it turned out. Yes, I’ve got the same bar grille ordered from Amazon.Looks like your install turned out great! Speaker looks just a little vunerable to a sharp edged object sliding in your trunk. Thought about a grate on it?

Yes, it was a very easy remove and replace. I bought a small bag of polyfill to moderately stuff the enclosure. If I had it to do over, I would remove the alignment tab at the top of the enclosure so that the Polk centered perfectly in the enclosure. For whatever reason I used it to align the new sub at 12 & 6 o’clock. The Polk does not come with a grille which I didn’t mind because I knew I was getting the bar grille pictured above. Is the Polk just an easy remove and replace with the stock sub? Quick question, for the cars that didn't come with this option, is the dongle there from the factory to be able to plug and play a stock one in?Replaced the B&O sub with a Polk DB1042 DVC.
