Back in the early 80s there was an individual in Cocoa, FL that was experimenting with a 240ci straight 6 in a ford mustang with a carb of his own design that was getting average 80 MPG out of it at 70 mph highway and 70 around town. He had tested it for over 2 years, it was not quick to get up to speed but would keep up with normal traffic. When he got ready and applied for a patent on it and big auto got wind, they quickly put the legal screws to him, and it never saw the light of day. We should have had cars getting those MPG numbers long ago, but corporate greed will never allow it.Does anybody else remember the Honda CRX car from the 80’s. Got 50
mpg and wasn’t any smaller then these little cars I see today.
I had one with 130k ( when cars didn’t last like today ) and still was getting 45 mpg.
what happened to that “ technology”
We are fighting a losing battle in terms of clean air for the world until we can make China get on board with any/all efforts to reduce emissions, they don't care and never will unless made to do so by the rest of the world. Just wasting money otherwise.
