Fortunately mine didn’t crack as such, it just started to separate on the joint between the upper and lower pieces (that sandwich the shift boot) - I suspect it’s luck of the draw as the plastic welds in that area didn’t look as good as the ones on the other side that remained intact.Yeah, so easy to crack that trim piece when trying to remove it.
It takes a lot of force to get it out, compared to how much it takes to snap back in place on reassembly

I hope I don’t have to take it out again, but if I do, I read it’s easy to remove the console, and then simply push the clips out from the back.
