I’ve always been very partial to Rapid Red.

Going strictly from old, old memories but to my recollection it gets as close to original House of Kolor CAR as you can get. That is the pinnacle of reds in my book. My ‘20 Rapid Red GT still gets more comments than my others all put together.

I think that 93 Cobra Teal or the original Gulfstream Aqua would look great on the GTD.

Beautiful in blue no doubt.

I also like the Black but the only problem is it hides the lines which is one of the reasons I got the Mach 1 in gray instead of black. But it looks very mean.

I’m always of the opinion that flashy cars need flashy colors. I love the yellows that ford has offered over the years. Grabber Yellow, Triple Yellow, School Bus Yellow. All fantastic colors.

Also love me some Grabber Orange, Gotta Have it Green and Need For Green. And Grabber Lime as well.

Can't forget 'Yellow Blaze' when bringing up yellow

I was thinking of that one. Sublime too. Cinnamon Stick (or however Mopar spelled it) is a cool reddish orange too.

When I saw the Lambo Brian, I thought it WAS PP and I was even alive when it debuted. <laughing> Seriously, the older brother of a bud got a brand new 1970 Challenger in PP and I fell in love with the color. Sadly the Chally was only a 318. <grin>

Thank you for the vote of confidence, Tom but as you and everyone else knows, choosing a paint color is one of THE best ways to make you wind up at the Funny Farm. <BSEG> It's a bitch, any way you slice it.

Anyway my first question is, do you plan to choose a one-off, locked in color or, one of the twelve standard colors?

If it's the former, we need to start with a base "hue," and again, being partial to Red, I would start with Rapid and "tweak" it. Ditto if you're leaning another color direction, we would start with the standard and massage it the same way. Therefive, if you're going for the "one off," lemme know.

Meanwhile, you've obviously seen all the available colors but here are all 12 in one place although these are rendered images and depending on the software used, colors can be very close or WayTF off. These images at least to my eyes, look fairly accurate.

Thanks for all that. I am overwhelmed at the choices, but you give good advice. I'm with family now and going over possible base colors and go down each rabbit hole. Maybe tomorrow I'll stop by an automotive paint shop and have a look at some of their catalogs.

Online, there are several companies that specialize in custom colors and they offer swatches for $1.50 per sample. I figure narrow it all down to some specific base colors and order all the variations that they offer. Then go from there.
