I've been looking to switch up my Magnaflow Competition dual exhaust to a quad tip setup using the GT350 rear valance on my base 2016 mustang for about a year now, but put the idea aside due to having to get a whole new premium bumper for the change...well I recently got rear ended with very minor damage that made me finally pull the trigger on it.

I wasn't really interested in keeping the fake tips on the GT350 rear valance and really wanted to stick with the magnaflow competition sound of my current car and run dual tips on each side. Problem is, the magnaflow competition setup doesn't have enough room when chopping the tips off to make it fit :frusty:
After consulting with the nearby exhaust shop as well as Magnaflow directly, they said it would be best to buy the quad tip setup for the roush valance and try to make it work! Best part was the exhaust was on sale at the time which made it a no brainer:hail:

So after 8 hours at the exhaust shop and a few days at the body shop, I finally have exactly what I wanted. A modified quad tip magnaflow competition setup ran straight through the GT350 rear valance :cheers:

Looks awesome. One of the best mods I did was going to the quad tip look

Awesome! Your car looks almost exactly like mine, lol.

Question...not sure if you have long tubes but I just installed the Magnaflow Competion cat back to my SW LT's and they sound amazing till I get on it and the rasp or as if something is wrong. What is yours sound like when you get on it? I have no cats, resonators.

Very nice - wise choice to ditch the fake GT350 fake tips. Will never understand why Ford did that...

Because hot exhaust tips melt plastic? Any manufacturer that has those style "thru bumper" tips are fake with the real ones slightly behind it.

Or they could just not put a weak plastic mesh around the tips? That's how they made the 18 GT quads work.

Those are slightly different. They're under the valence with a decent amount of clearance, not through it. We've all see the riced Honda with the too-big fart can that melted half the bumper because it was touching.

OP's car looks cool for sure and he will likely never have an issue, just that OEM's don't think that way. Anything that can reduce warranty claims for dumb stuff will be done.

so how did you do this exactly? You removed the quad tips 'sleeve' from the factory valance? I am looking to run quad tips as well!

Looks great. I wasn't a fan of the fake tips and wondered if this could be done. :headbang:
