Good question. They talk about aero in the site and the CF wheels so I would assume so.
If it can out perform a purpose built track car (GTD) on the track, then more power to them (GM)... HP ain't everything, will be nasty in a straight line though for sure.

They’ve got some good stuff on the site that I didn’t see right at initial launch. Two different aero package options, with one looking track focused and in CF. They have a cool purple color that will be offered too…

In a straight line without the big aero package, it should wipe the floor with just about anything.

I would like to see them go on the same track in the same conditions on the same day and see what kind of lap times they put down. By some accounts, the GTD will be some 600lbs lighter (how anyone knows that with official weight specs for either car still under wraps), so that extra weight will hurt the Vette on track if that ends up being the case. All the better if GM sends the ZR1 to the Ring, both should put down incredible times.

Not a hybrid either. This thing is going to destroy all comers.
I was shocked it’s not using the eRay platform honestly. GM is pretty proud of that model, thought for sure they’d want to incorporate it with the ZR1.

A lot of the teasers have included lightning bolts signaling an E component
why can't they just use the IMSA push-to-pass kind of system? With a modest battery/capacitor, so it gets you say 30 seconds instead of 10?

Would be awesome if it was a supercharged cross plane version of the LT6 instead that revs to 7,000 rpm and made 925 hp.
SC is just a massive energy suck and adds torque where it's not useful. TT is the only correct answer.

STILL no row-able 'manual'-by-wire setup. Come on GM, this one is easy!

“The ZR1 is the ultimate expression of aerodynamics, of horsepower, of exoticness, of styling.”
uhhh, the Italians are on line 2 and would like a word, Mr. Caples. Don't be surprised if you wake up one morning to blood-soaked sheets with a mangled hood at the foot of the bed.

I wouldn’t say no to that…

All designed in-house as well... unlike the GTD which, and lets be honest, Ford had very little to do with designing the GTD.

wow the marketing director couldn't find a collared shirt to put on or have his makeup minions straighten his jumper? Yikes, this is embarrassing!

The ZR1 revives the historic split rear window design,
riiiiight. Talk about REACHING for something that isn't there.

bet my paycheck MSRP is cheaper than the GTD. Maybe 100K cheaper.
No doubt.

But that’s also a Multimatic GT3 race car in street clothes whereas the ZR1 is the opposite. I would hope the Vette is cheaper.
