Does anyone know if the mesh section can be removed from the vent body for painting. I did this on my Air Design hood vents and of course it made painting a lot easier. I would leave the mesh black and the vent body matched to my orange fury.

I found some close up pics on American Muscle and surmised the mesh is molded into the body.

Based on that, I planned to dremel/sand the honeycomb off, bonding aluminum honeycomb material (from CustomCarGrills) to the backside. I had a change of heart based on another member's input.

My current leaning is to mask the part, paint the mesh a graphite color to match my wheels, and when that paint is cured, mask the rest of the part, painting the bezel/divider ribs Ingot Silver to match the adjacent fender.

To achieve aesthetics to my liking I'll probably change my 5.0 emblems below the vents to Black with the red "dot". (Otherwise I'm thinking the chrome emblem would compete visually the vent assembly.

But that said, I don't have the vents in hand, so it is possible I'll experiment when they are, and change my mind again.

Appears to be one molded piece with a bracket to mount it to the fender

Thanks Nathan. Shame that they don't seperate. It would have made painting so much neater.

I think to be certain, first hand knowledge is needed. The photos are not clear enough.

I would think with it being a two piece design already (vent and bracket) they wouldn’t want another fail point by making the actual vent two pieces too. They are made for their TrakPak cars so less fail points is better for track.

But I agree, a first hand view of the vents is probably necessary to know for sure

A set is on order.

Interesting, I would love to see a set in person.
Same. Given the color of my mustang I'm trying to avoid mods that would directly cut the stock body if I can help it. So for me personally I'll probably be opting for something from Anderson Composites if anything (and it'd be the fiberglass variant too). That said I've pretty much fallen in love those wheels and given I was looking at Signature chances are I'll be going with which ever gives the better deal down the line.

While they are in the right location, I don't think they are large enough to facilitate a lot of airflow. If anyone throws them on their car I'd love to see a video of strings attached to it to see if they do push air through.

Cool looking for sure.

Yeah I'm actually quite curious as to their effectiness. I put my Mustang in the garage yesterday evening after a spirited drive to the lake and then went down to check on something about an hour later and the garage was a sauna. The increase in humidity and air temp in Ontario has really started to bake things.

I’d be putting holes in the fender liners to pull air from the wheel area, not from the engine bay so I guess we’ll see what we need to cut.
Remember that on the Roush website under directions for these fender vents are temples to overlay so you get the cuts right the first time…you download them and print.
