I always use motorcraft synthetic blend and never had issues. My 14 Coyote bought new had Synthetic blend from day one every 10K miles and my engine was mint. 1 Quart per 10K miles, ran like a champ. Had oil analysis at 120K miles with 10K miles on oil, the results speak for themselves below:

Do you know what percentage of synthetic need to in it to be able to be called “synthetic blend “ ?
Well, there is no regulations and therefore you could have less than 1% synthetic and be legally called synthetic blend
Once again nothing more than bs marketing in order to maximize profit
Either get regular oil or full synthetic, that is the only way to know what you are getting and paying for

Look I am just sharing my positive experience with the factory recommended synthetic blend oil. I could care less what the percentage is.

I have used it on other Fords as well, never had an issue. What wears engines is lack of oil changes and running them low on oil. Most of the well known oil manufacturers meet or exceed factory recommendations.

I was wondering whether a 40 weight engine oil will
work with the GT’s VARIABLE CAM TIMING without any problems?

Pennzoil Ultra Platinum here 5w30. There is little to no difference to be had by using any of the major brand synthetics. I prefer to stick with the same oil as you aren't changing additive packs each time you change oil. Why pennzoil? My family is from PA and I like the way the bottles look.

How many miles are on your M1? Ford puts additives in the oil from the factory to aid in proper engine break-in, so it is ill-advised to change the oil too soon. It is generally believed that this is why owners are hearing the type-writer tick after their first oil change, when they are removing the factory oil.

Having said that, I highly recommend Amsoil and run it myself.

Also, many GT users add a partial to full bottle of Liqui-Moly Cera Tec to quiet the type-writer tick in the engine. This could void your engine warranty, as the manuals say to not add engine additives of any kind. Ford has long said the tick sound is normal. If you have any engine warranty claims, the first thing they'll do is check your fluids, and Cera Tec makes it a milky color.
The manual states that they do not recommend adding any additives to your engine, not we will void your warranty if you do. They also say we strongly recommend using the Motorcraft synthetic blend oil, and they don't deny warranty work for using other brands of oil. Just saying, a LOT of people on this forum use Ceratec and I have not heard of one person being denied warranty work because of it. It would be hard for Ford to justify denying warranty work because of using an additive that is specifically designed to help engines.

Not to mention if your having engine issues, the oil will more than likely be discolored anyway... lol!

I would agree it’s highly unlikely warranty claims would be denied due to having an oil additive unless they can prove that the additive caused the failure. BUT, they have that language in the manual, so they are covered from a legal standpoint if they deny coverage because they determine the additive caused the failure. Again, highly unlikely but that language is there for a reason (CYA).

I did my first oil change after about 2k miles, used Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5W-30. There was a slight tick shortly after but it was only noticeable with the windows down and up against a wall (garage, drive thru, etc). After about 1k miles or so it quieted down a bit, hardly even noticeable now with the windows down (unless I’m just used to it). I have zero worries about the ticking, although I am going to go with the Motorcraft Full Synthetic next oil change and thereafter as I just prefer the full synthetic. Figured for the first oil change I’d go by the book and use the blend as recommended.
