From what I've hear, you need to drop the idea of being loyal to an insurance company and shop them, just make sure you are quoted the same coverage as what you have.
The ad's stating switch and save 564.00 a year is susp.

Yep! I was with geico for over 20+ and the rates kept going up. Just switched progressive and I saved a few. Anyone used the general insurance?
I think the general is only for people who have nowhere else to go lol. Like your credit or driving history would have to be terrible.

Currently with Farmers, but my insurance broker works with a lot of different carriers.

Send me a PM if you want to know the broker I work with. Keep in mind I am in PA, I don't know what their coverage area is.
Thanks. I'm in Alabama so I doubt they'll go this far, lol.

I switched to an auto policy with Cincinnati Mutual. When I took the total for all cars, 3 "antique/classics" on old car policies and the 4 modern Fords on regular policies, we save almost $900 per year. They are now all on the same policy, we agreed value on all. This is helpful, especially for my '05 Excursion. We were with Progressive.

We had a homeowners' claim this year and I expected that policy to go up. It did. A lot. Agent says that losing the bundle discount, the claim, and inflation are to blame. He quoted out 4 other companies that were all even higher.

Spoke with the agent that sold me the car policy. When added to the car policy, it's just over $900. Hundreds less than Progressive.

I believe that insurance companies are just like magazine subscriptions. As a new customer, you get a special rate of $9.99. As a "valued subscriber", it's $29.95. It pays to shop insurance often.

I have Geico and the same thing. My insurance for full coverage jumped30%, no accidents or moving violations. I went from $280 per month to $365. This is in Los Angeles.

Since virtually nobody switches to pay the same or more, every single switch saves money. That means there is no insurance company that doesn't save their clients money.

When some guy living where he has a 50/50 chance the car gets stolen any given night and is married to an habitual DUI wife gets a divorce and moves to a gated community.......... mega commercial worthy savings

If when you switch don't double check the coverage limits . It is on you. Every quote i got once I asked for the same coverage I had, was within 15 bucks of what I was paying. Sure you can save 500.00 plus when they quote you the bare min. On each coverage line. You can do that with the insurance company you have now.

I started a similar thread on another forum. Long time State Farm customer. We have recently seen a huge rate hike, especially for our car insurance. I'm in the process of shopping around.

Good luck. I just went through a thorough price quote and State Farm was still the cheapest. I got quotes from Allstate, American Family, Farmers, Shelter, and Costco Connect (which is through American Family). This was for auto only (7 cars plus a boat), homeowner’s only, and auto/home bundled together. Ironically, going through American Family direct was cheaper than going through Costco. American Family was about $1K cheaper per year on auto than State Farm, but about $1,500 more on my homeowner’s, so overall State Farm was still cheaper. American Family was the next cheapest. There are too much in discounts for bundling auto/home to try and split them up from the quotes I received.

Yeah, that's pretty much the same type of responses and comments I got on the other forum.

Just curious if any upped their deductibles to decrease their premium?

Also I’ve heard that if you have medical coverage through a work health care policy (or other), that the medical portion of an auto policy could be dropped to save $$$ too.

I don’t know if the medical part above is true or not true though…. Anyone in the industry know??

I've had high deductibles for years on house and all cars. Helps.
