Short throw shifter recommendations..

Been a long time since I’ve had a car without a short throw.. the throws in this car feel a mile long to me.. and definitely throwing my game off.. I want to get one ordered while it’s in hibernation mode for winter.

What do you guys have and do you like or hate it? Any tips, do’s or don’ts before or after installing on these cars?

You are an awful person! I have the MGW, and I love it.

[To be certain you’re awful, I’d have to have first hand knowledge of the Steeda. I don’t. I do however like many of their parts. So maybe you’re not awful.]

Add in some Steeda adjustable motor mounts and their Stop the Hop Kit while you’re at it, to take all the slop/flex out of the drivetrain.

Do you have the motor mounts? How are they and how was install?

Barton hybrid 3 here. Trans mount is the only proper path.

I also have full mounts, STH, cf driveshaft, so my mileage is a bit more varied, lmfao

What do you want to spend ?
My suggestion;
Boomba Short Throw kit.
Full Tilt Boogie OEM shifter trans mount.
Motul Multi-DCTF fluid change.

I went with the Boomba Racing shifter. It simply replaces the shift lever with a shorter one. Didn't like the shift knob that I bought to go with it, so used the OEM instead.

I then tied the rear of the shifter unit to the transmission instead of the body with a Blowfish bracket. The Blowfish is discontinued, but I'm sure similar are available.

It started out a little notchy, but has smoothed out with time. No more lock out or missed shifts.

MGW - and while you're at it get a new clutch and swap out the tranny fluid for Motul. No lock-outs / missed shifts going from 2-3 at an HPDE at the ACS Roval (a high power, high speed course). You'll have new found affection for the MT-82.
