Both decouple the shift linkage from the chassis (which is how it should be in any case), but keep the OEM shift linkage.

I'm beyond happy with the light version of the Steeda Tri-Ax, the "Street". I think this is the best compromise between throw, feel, cost and ease of installation.
Mind you, I had absolutely no issues with the stock shifter. No notchiness, no missed shifts, no nothing. I just wanted a shorter throw, a lower sitting shift knob, and a bit more firmness, all in a package that I could install myself. And the Street was exactly that. :inlove:
If you do have other issues that you hope an aftermarket shifter might alleviate, then you should look at more complete solutions.

Been a long time since I’ve had a car without a short throw.. the throws in this car feel a mile long to me.. and definitely throwing my game off.. I want to get one ordered while it’s in hibernation mode for winter.

What do you guys have and do you like or hate it? Any tips, do’s or don’ts before or after installing on these cars?
The MGW is a huge upgrade over stock and you have a ton of options to customize the look and throw reduction! 2 Shifter options, 3 handles and 2 shift knob options!

Steeda's Tri-Ax is a upgrade over stock for sure too!

Hit me up and we can get one on the way to get rid of all that sloppiness in the stock shifter!

Feel free to DM me or call with any questions!

@Biggus Dickus, what clutch did you install in yours? Did you go lightened flywheel or stay with the factory flywheel?
Well - I had two actually. I first went with a Lethal LPX that blew up 5 laps into it's first HPDE. So I had that pulled and it was repaired under warranty by McLeod. It now sits in my shed. Very nice clutch, but it was defective.

So, I didn't want my car sitting at the mechanic's shop waiting for warranty repair, and my mechanic was able to quickly get a McLeod RST which is what I'm using now. So far, so good, and when it goes the LPX will go in.

Both kits come with an aluminum flywheel (which I believe is lighter than stock)

I recommend either one.

I'll be back at ACS in two weeks to subject it to further abuse.

That's great, it's a hell of a product and worth the coin. No need to disassemble the console to install it.

Sort of reminds me of how the Hurst Competition Plus, went in. From the bottom of the car and not needing a 1/4 drill bit to alien & get natural.

Anyway glad someone took up the torch. So folks have a reasonable price shifter upgrade.

I had the steeda Tri ax on my old car and it was a great shifter, I absolutely loved it. This time around I went with the MGW though and I gotta say, it's night and day different. I'm sold on MGW shifters, buy one and don't look back.
