You are correct, sir. I removed the motor from the shutter housing, connected it to the wiring harness and zip-tied it to the crash bar. Seems to have worked because all code codes are clean.

I considered some "forscan magic" but I think you would end up wanting to plug that connector on the harness anyway to protect it from the elements. Not sure where to order a "delete connector" for the harness connection... so the zip-tie method seemed to be the simplest solution.
Understood! And good to hear. I'll be tackling the shutters myself, once I get all the bits and bobs to swap the belly pan and splitter for the performance pack parts.

In lieu of a delete connector, perhaps you could use liquid rubber or similar to protect the connector. Wrap it in tape that can sustain any residual engine heat to preserve the actual connector head, then dip the whole end of the cable to seal it. Or, inverse that but do it to the connector that was on the shutter-side, if you won't be reinstalling them yourself? DIY cap.

Performance Pack Master Race enjoys the extra turbulence.

Hah!

That's interesting... I've never heard that before. The Performance Package versions don't have the active grill shutters, so how do they combat the "extra turbulence"?

Practically speaking, the Mishimoto bracket and oil cooler seem to be completely incompatible with the active grill shutter system. Besides removing the blades, the OEM stuff would have to be heavily modified to fit as the Mishimoto bracket bolts into the same place the upper part of the shutter housing mounts to.

I've had 6 track days in 90-100 degree Texas weather and so I have a good baseline on the car's stock cooling capabilities. This weekend should be a good test of the oil cooler setup.
To answer, the performance pack still has the plumbing to direct airflow to the radiator—just no grilles to restrict it. Don't have any part numbers handy for that plumbing myself, sadly, assuming they're available for purchase—haven't looked into it quite deep enough yet. Like Ice said though, you can also just cut the shutters out and clean up the ducting.

I want to say* I've also seen someone use like, sheets of high-temp foam type material, mounted up somehow to guide air into the radiator.

*No guarantees nor liability are to be gathered from this comment. Additional research may be required. Look into such topics as needed. Or don't, I'm not a cop.

Today, found a great shop that mounted my factory tires on my new rims. Since the new rims won't cover as much of the rotor as the factory wheels...I painted the ends of each rotor in preparation of putting the new wheels on. VHT engine paint. At some point, I'll paint the calipers...

As someone already said, the performance pack has its own "scoop" assembly, it's not just bare. With that said it's simply not optimal to have nothing, since air already loved bypassing the radiators in these cars as it is. Having no direction from the airflow makes it worse. Your car isn't going to overheat without it and you'll still see better temps especially on the street, but it's something to think about. Fair point on it not fitting with the additional coolers though.

Wheels are on! My OCD wanted the car off the mid-rise. I got a set of domed center cap decals to cover the aftermarket logo. Next...put the factory wheels on marketplace....

What are you parked on? Is that a home-made box so you have access for oil changes etc, or just want to have it parked higher off the ground?

It's a pair of ramps I made...there's a mid-rize lift under the Mustang. The ramps give enough clearance for any car to park above the lift. You an barely see the powerpack in near the Excursion's headlight...

Today I had the carpets cleaned and interior detailed (at a shop), because my Mustang is officially retired from daily driver duties (yay!) and won't be transporting dogs or lumber ever again (if I can help it).

She's now a dedicated track and autox toy which will occasionally see weekday use, which means I can probably actually keep her kind of clean for a change. At least on the inside.

Also changed the cabin air filter after 87k miles. Turns out I shoulda done that a while ago because it was gross.
