Went to the body shop today to check the fit of my new carbon hood and get ideas to lay out stripes. On the carbon fiber trunk (Anderson Composites) and the hood I’m having stripes masked off on the carbon, on the bumpers I’ll have matching carbon look vinyl stripes with candy red pinstripes. A few weeks ago my garbage man hit the back bumper of my car, so their insurance company was going to pay for a bumper and diffuser anyway, so I ordered an Anderson Composites diffuser, splitter and side skirts. I’ve been wanting to do a Gt350r spoiler, but didn’t want holes in my trunk lid or a weird trim piece covering holes, so I ended up ordering the Anderson spoiler and trunk lid as well. As long as I was going that far, and I need a little more hood clearance for the CJ lid upgrade for the Whipple, I ordered the hood as well. As long as I have all this pretty new carbon, I might as well show it off…so the splitter, side skirts, diffuser and wing are all going to stay exposed carbon, I’ll paint the hood and deck lid black and leave exposed carbon stripes.

Drilled the 2 holes for the driver's side mounting bracket for the rear shock tower brace. Blasted fuel hose makes it a bit difficult to do as it's pretty stiff and in the way of the location of the holes. Getting closer to making my car handle way better than stock...

Removed the active grill shutters and installed the Mishimoto oil cooler kit on my 2018 GT. Next track day is this Saturday at Eagles Canyon Raceway in Decatur, TX!

Put the scoops back on with the blades removed. If you delete the whole assembly it creates extra turbulence which is bad for cooling.

My Borla Touring with Y-Pipe came so I went to my garage to install it, however the right muffler didn't fit. The exhaust tip on the right muffler was slightly bent upwards touching the bumper and leaving no space. When I contacted Borla seller in Germany, he didn't believe that there is real issue with Borla cat-back system and told me that there is probably just issue with me fitting the muffler as they had only one warranty claim in the past 10 years in Europe. When I sent him few photos, he contacted Borla immediately and I can tell you how this warranty claim and the photos stormed through the factory as this was an obvious QC fail. The reason why the right muffler didn't fit, was that it was made for Convertible models (I had no idea they even make Borla Touring with EC-Type Approval for Convertibles 😑). The factory decided to make 1-of special cat-back (as not a single one is in stock) and send a full replacement to prove what a cat-back that accurately represents their brand should look like. One thing I have to point out is, that their answer and decision came in 24 hours with an apology, and I have to admit that their Customer service is really top notch. So... didn't do anything to my Mustang today, just put stock exhaust back so I can drive it and now I'm waiting for a replacement. Hopefully the new one fits in 😀

It seemed like no one could get away really. I let him lead and vice versa. But the acceleration those Teslas are able to put down is quite something 😳
Another Mustang tried to join but he couldn't keep up thank god. 2 racers are enough. Again, there wasn't much traffic and we had 5 lanes. Fun stuff!
those Teslas are no joke. I drove the two seater roadster at my company in Germany a few years back. Charging stations is one of our products so we had the two seater for "testing" purposes. :cwl: Instant acceleration. unfortunately a guest took it for a spin and crashed it. Now we have the larger Model S sedan....still very fast but just not the same as the roadster.

That ziptie on the crash bar—is that where you pinned up the motor? I've heard it can throw codes if you remove it outright. Or might there be some forscan magic that those of us with shutters can employ to send them off? :giggle:

Did you end up go square or staggered setup? 275/35r20 tire size? How’s the ride quality on the 20’s? I thought I was all set on the SVE R350 in 19” but the CFX look really good so I might change my plans and go with the CFX.

That's interesting... I've never heard that before. The Performance Package versions don't have the active grill shutters, so how do they combat the "extra turbulence"?

Practically speaking, the Mishimoto bracket and oil cooler seem to be completely incompatible with the active grill shutter system. Besides removing the blades, the OEM stuff would have to be heavily modified to fit as the Mishimoto bracket bolts into the same place the upper part of the shutter housing mounts to.

I've had 6 track days in 90-100 degree Texas weather and so I have a good baseline on the car's stock cooling capabilities. This weekend should be a good test of the oil cooler setup.

You are correct, sir. I removed the motor from the shutter housing, connected it to the wiring harness and zip-tied it to the crash bar. Seems to have worked because all code codes are clean.

I considered some "forscan magic" but I think you would end up wanting to plug that connector on the harness anyway to protect it from the elements. Not sure where to order a "delete connector" for the harness connection... so the zip-tie method seemed to be the simplest solution.

Performance Pack Master Race enjoys the extra turbulence.

20 x 11 with 305/35/20 and 20 x 10 with 275/35/20

i don’t notice a ride quality difference between the stock 255/40/19 but then again roads around where I live are pretty smooth ( not torn up by use or winter ). I drove the car home from Iowa with the 19s and only have about 300 miles on the 20s

The 305/35/20 is a tall tire but I have got nothing but compliments on the wheel/tire combo and car as a whole.

Thanks. Your car looks great! All the black accents really make Cyber Orange pop.
