Hello. I come from a 2012 GT500 vert with Borla S axle backs which had great sound imo. We're plenty quiet in 5th or 6th. I do like the idea of a quiet mode on demand at startup, etc.

I will likely only get one of these. Anyone with both would be the best to answer: Sophie's Choice which would you save? I've already specced an expensive car: GT Prem, vert, 401, PP, silver wheels.

I know there are many threads recently on AE. I've read them all. I didn't think I wanted it, but now I do. Magneride I'm unsure but in theory I get it and this will be a mostly weekend with some nice day DD duty. My GT500 was so stiff if I rode over a dime I could tell you if it was heads or tails up. Plus the bump steer!

Thanks!

I casted my vote without having read the post 1st. My bad! I have the AE, not both.

With that spec you're already pretty close to fully loaded - Why not just take both? I've got a fully spec convertible as well minus Riccaros and factory floor mats.

The combination of AE & Magnaride really makes the drive modes unique and purposeful.

I'm on the fence to do just that...spec both! I just wonder if one was more overwhelmingly necessary than the other. Like to not spec EVERYTHING!

Plus I know I'd be ok with Borla S retrofit in the future. But I'm thinking more buy once, cry once.

I'd honestly just get both your payment if you are not paying in full will only be about $15/mo difference which just doesn't seem like it should be something that matters at what the cost of the car is. I 100% would get both. If I had not gotten a Mach 1 I had planned on PP1/magneride/AE in the one I was building.

I can also say that I have no driven enough to notice the difference between suspension settings, however, AE is amazing and I love how she sings in Track. I have not really used anything else although if I need to be quiet I have that option available to me as I do have elderly neighbors.

With the huge aftermarket for great looking and great sounding cat back exhaust set ups, I would vote for the magnaride. It does wonders for taming the S550’s weight and is responsive and comfortable at the same time.

Thanks for enabling Vertex!

I'll be paying cash, but wanted to keep the boss from freaking out too.

Both are a bargain as a factory option. And both are very expensive to add later.

Get Both.

If I had to choose one or another? It would be Magneride. The active exhaust will be easier to add later for about $2500 bucks.

Magneride (not magna) -
Active exhaust -

For the money you're already going to spend, get both and you won't have any regrets. If you must pick only one, get the Magneride, then drive yourself nuts trying to decide which of the bazillion aftermarket exhaust setups is right for you.

Ideally both, but yea, if ONLY one, magneride.

Tons of exhaust options, all of which are easier to install and setup later.

Nothing like magneride. That's why many high end/exotic sports cars license the patented product from GM. Of course they never advertise, "we provide x shocks on our $300K sports car, because it's also used on Corvettes". Imagine how that would go over. So the companies come up with their own version of the name.

Enjoy that technology on my C7 Corvette Z06, and my 2019 Shelby GT350 Mustang.

Sophie's Choice. That's funny. It is a tough one. I have a vert with both and they were both a requirement. However, you can always add AE or any other exhaust easily enough. The thing is, magnaride on a vert is interesting because you're really not going to road coarse or track it. It's a cruiser. So the magnaride isn't as neccesary as it would be on a hardtop.

I have both on my 18’ GT PP1 but if I could only get one it would be Magnaride over AE.

I have both on my 2020 GT.

My brother-in-law doesn't have magneride and it is a noticeable difference. I also love the ability to start in quite mode for the neighbors and switch to track mode when I want to be loud. An h-pipe is a must.
