yeah .... just for starters - is that a 3 pin socket adapter with ground? lol. thats a joke btw ... Just cause previous homeowner ...... its still not right. Worst thing I can call someone is a 'homeowner'. From a tradesman's perspective. anywayRight, mainly the socket adapters I know electricians and inspectors don't like. But hey, previous owners of my house ran an extension cord through drywall into the ceiling to plug in an extension cord behind the drywall. Added single outlets but really I should have whole new circuit for the garage openers apparently.
I am somewhat curious about the LED lights tho. I've bought some of those you hang on a chain from trusses for our barn with plugin cord, those are great, but the ones the person has do look pretty nice and bright.
When one sells, home inspector wont miss that garage wiring, and if they suspected extension cord in the walls, well ... Qfter a fire, the inspections find homeowner wiring ... claim denied.
There are surface wiring methods that arent too expensive and you wont have to take down the drywall. EMT, eg.
