Hi guys,

My 2021 GT has the BBQ tick, at 4200 miles, after oil change and its boosted via ROUSH phase 2 kit. Just curious since ROUSH indicates 5W50 oil for engine now, has anyone added CERATEC to there boosted coyotes?
I was wondering if adding the ceratec would dilute the viscosity or thickness of the oil?

Thanks Anthony

I run one bottle of ceratec and for oil I use 5w40 T6 Rotella. No issues here with stage two whipple. I also had tick after first oil change. Not with the ceratec though

Thinking out loud, It be interesting to see the live data of a pull before the tick, and a pull after the tick, is the tick causing the knock sensors to pull timing.

Thanks for reply!!! Oh wow!!! Great to hear. I bought my 2 bottles today, gonna drop them in tomorrow. Damn tick is driving me crazy.. 👎👎👎
Arent u supposed to run 5W50 w boost? Or is 5w40 good enough? Roush calls for 5w50.. but that could all be bullshit.
How long have you been running ceratec?

Thanks Anthony

Yes I use it. 1 bottle is not enough to really affect 10 quarts of oil viscosity in any meaningful way.

Btw 1 bottle is more than enough. Its really concentrated. I think someone on here actually used half a bottle and the noise went away.

The paperwork with the kit says to maintain the warranty you must use 5w50. Of course 5w40 is not going to hurt anything and is more than enough protection. If something happened they would have to prove it was caused by the oil. But that is a choice you have to make if you want go down that road. Mobil 1 and Castrol Edge also make 5w50 oil so its relatively easy to come by. Or of course just stopping by the dealer. I plan to keep using it at least while under warranty.

10 quarts of oil is 9464 milliliters. One bottle of Ceratec is 300Ml which is roughly 3% of the total fill. Don't think this will cause an issue with viscosity.

I have ceratec in my whippled 18 gt with amsoil 5w50, runs great and quiet. Ive used ceratec for 40k miles every oil change. Newest oil report is after putting on the whipple and with the amsoil 5w50, the prior oil reports were on amsoil 0w30 or 5w30 or those 2 mixed.

ceratec does not change viscosity. That is not how it works. As for oil I use mobile 1 5w50 European blend. European is the only way to go
What is the differnece of European blend?
Thanks Anthony

European blend has additives to help it hold higher loads like from a supercharger and additives to last longer before needing to change the oil. But it’s the extra load carrying that I’m interested in

+1 for euro oils. Unlike API’s one-size-fits-all approach, Europe has different standard gasoline oil specs depending on intended use. There is a standard euro oil spec intended just for high performance applications.
