Got my first ever 'muffler' ticket haha

Tried to give me a ticket for exhibition driving down I29 in broad daylight on a saturday at like 2 in the afternoon for excessive noise.....

LOL I asked what they use for a dB meter and the cop said his phone......

bone stock 2018 Mustang no active exhaust zero mods down to stock tires even as it left the lot.

I went to Ford dealership had them put it on a lift so I could take a bunch of pics. Vehcile inspection report said vehicle is stock unmodified as came from Ford.

I brought the pics and paperwork to court and asked what "cellphone" app the cop used so i could download it aswell. LOL

I asked what app is certified by the state or Highway Patrol too.

DA looked at my pics from dealership and service sheet and said dismissed have a nice day.

That ticket will be a cake walk to beat.

The cops here randomly shut down a few lanes of traffic on cruise night, and funnel everyone into a single lane. When I came up to them they asked me to rev my engine.. I knew right away the noise tax was a comin.

you should have said i am not going to rev my engine on the grounds that it may incriminate me then ask if you are being detained or are free to go.

I think if a cop pulled me over and told me to rev my engine I would tell him no thank you and ask if I can be on my way.

I was thinking the same thing. Can't make you rev your engine just to "check". If they heard it in the distance, ticket me while idling and I'll fight it. Otherwise, pound sand.

How loud can a SLP exhaust be with a quick rev ? Not very.

The cop had me unknowingly break the law so he could give me a ticket. SLAM DUNK for me:

It’s that simple. You just have to go in prepared. Now in the OPs situation. He might want to leave the mustang home on the day he goes to court. And keep it simple and ask for a cert on the officers ears.

I think that is your legal way out. Say you don't "rev" your engine, therefore you've never had a noise complaint. The officer asked you to create the illegal situation. My exhaust is loud at 6K RPM's. But won't raise a ruckus just babying it. He basically said, ok I want you to speed so I can give you a speeding ticket. You weren't breaking the law until he demanded that you do something that would break the law. I'd say driving a stock GT PP2 at 7K RPM's would out loud yours at 2K RPMs right?

What a joke ! Winnipeg has, or had, the worst crime rate in Canada. Instead of solving crimes and unsolved murders they're giving out muffler too loud tickets. Sounds like they're trying to get you to fund the next policemans ball.
